You keep removing my edit :(
[edit]Hi thanks for your graciousness! I’m so curious to know why you insist on keeping this random quote from a random interview. It seems awfully vindictive and petty against Li. There are also several typos. Do you not see it? Thanks! The part that should be removed is below.
In 2024, after the US presidential election, Li described the Kamala Harris campaign as a "$1 billion disaster", stating that Democratic donors where misled by the campaign to believe "that this is an eminently winnable race" 2601:41:4300:9370:F5D7:9266:2426:B6E5 (talk) 05:39, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
- The main issue is that your summaries are misleading and generally don't explain the removal, only the caapitalization changes. I do admit that the last time I reverted, I probably should have backed down as you did explain yourself and that was my bad. Gaismagorm (talk) 11:47, 16 December 2024 (UTC)

Janet Street Porter is NOT Jewish!
[edit]Hi Gaismagorm - The link to the Guardian article has no mention of the information in the entry.Janet actually grew up in Fulham, London, UK - she often mentions this on UK TV show Loose Women. She had one sister who passed away a few years ago. She never talked about being Jewish, nor having this heritage.
The details given about being of Ashkenazi Jewish heritage and growing up in the US as one of 4 sisters applies to an American woman with a similar name who is cited in the disambiguation note at the top of the Wiki entry about the UK Janet Street Porter.
So I kindly request you amend the information, thank you. 2A02:6B6F:E63D:8700:38DE:DE7C:7ABF:6F1C (talk) 22:58, 15 February 2025 (UTC)

Thanks for catching the Vandalism on the List of wars involving the United States
[edit]Thanks Gaismagorm. Your anti-vandalism barnstars are well earned? How do I nominate you for a 4th? Seriously, please tell me how that works.
Several editors and I work on that list and the related articles and are constantly working to improve it for our readers, which numbers in the tens of thousands. Thanks for protecting this article.
( ̄^ ̄ )ゞ Historyguy1138 (talk) 06:12, 27 April 2025 (UTC)
- Also side question. In your professional opinion should we request these articles and those directly related to it, become semi protected? What do you think? (: Historyguy1138 (talk) 06:19, 27 April 2025 (UTC)
- @Historyguy1138 You don't need to nominate me at all! All you gotta do is put the anti-vandal barnstar themplate in a new section on my talk page if you want! Also, to answer your question, I don't think we need to semi-protect it. The article doesn't seem to get that much vandalism. With few exceptions, I believe protection is only used when articles get a lot of vandalism. Gaismagorm (talk) 11:57, 27 April 2025 (UTC)

Thank you to Gaismagorm for protecting the List of wars involving the United States from Vandalism. The editors who maintain this list have recently been refurbishing it to make it more user friendly and cover a wider basis for our readers. We recently got over 100,000 views in the last month which we are very proud of.
While there may be some divisions on Wikipedia among editors in terms of how an article is presented. Absolutely no editor likes vandalism.
We are very happy to give Gaismagorm with this Barnstar as a job well done and hope he continues to provide this valuable and needed service for all viewers and editors. Historyguy1138 (talk) 18:39, 28 April 2025 (UTC)

List of wars involving the United States
[edit]Hi for future refence there are only 5 wars where the U.S.A. officially declared war. The U.S.A. did not declare war in the American Revolution, the Korean War, the War in Vietnam, the War in Afghanistan, or the War in Iraq. Please do not state otherwise. The source is the very first footnote. If you want me to send you that source directly or any other note, I am happy to do so.
Thank you. And happy editing. Historyguy1138 (talk) 13:54, 16 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Historyguy1138 Ah okay, my bad! I was more confused because of the removals of the war "the" which felt grammatically weird, but I must have just read it wrong I guess lol! Gaismagorm (talk) 14:10, 16 May 2025 (UTC)
- No worries. It happens to the best of us. (:
- Some unregistered IP address keeps changing it for some reason. We have also had a few vandals lately. I am waiting to see if this gets worse so I can request a semi protection. But usually admins who grant that status want to see that happen more on a consistent basis. Historyguy1138 (talk) 14:13, 16 May 2025 (UTC)

[edit]On the page for welded grating (check the most recent [Aug 9, 2025] edit for user:Reneeofsunlight for specific article), you deleted an edit that you called blatantly commercial. The person hadn't named any company, and included relevant information. The only thing that was commercial was the link, and you didn't even delete that. I'm just wondering why that information deserved to be deleted. I'm genuinely curious, as I don't agree with the decision but would like to further my understanding of Wikipedia editing best practices. Reneeofsunlight (talk) 10:17, 9 August 2025 (UTC)
- @Reneeofsunlight hi! Don't worry, it's not weird at all and it's important to discuss edits you find problematic with editors. I mainly labelled it as commercial due to the link to an outside website, and the username of the editor being the same as the website. Gaismagorm (talk) 12:32, 9 August 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for the reply! I hadn't even noticed the username of the editor; yeah, that does scream "commercial interests." I appreciate you taking the time to reply. I'm not sure why I wrote that I "didn't agree" with the decision... I didn't have a position on it, I just didn't understand it. Sometimes I confuse myself lol. Anyways, thanks for the insight!
