ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message

[edit]
Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2021 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:26, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Notability tag on Joshua Kelley (sailor)

[edit]

You tagged Joshua Kelley (sailor) but didn't leave any discussion on the talkpage. The sources demonstrate sustained coverage from 2018 to 2023 including a full article in International Business Times, so I'd like to know what the issue is in your mind. Would you mind commenting at Talk:Joshua Kelley (sailor)? ☆ Bri (talk) 16:43, 1 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

New page reviewer declined

[edit]

Hi Cssiitcic, I declined your request for new page reviewer because I don't see a track record demonstrating understanding of quality control and deletion processes, and tagging pages as you did here is completely inappropriate. This permission is not handed out lightly: incorrect deletion nominations risk driving away good-faith contributors and create more work for admins reviewing CAT:SD and deletion discussions. In the example I linked, which incidentally is your only speedy deletion tagging in the last four years, there is plenty of context (A1 does not apply), the topic is not one of the few covered by A7, a quick Google search suggests that this is a very real topic and sources may exist (A11 does not apply), and it doesn't read as promotional (G11 does not apply). Sure, the article needs work, but deletion is not cleanup and NPP's job is not to delete/draftify everything that isn't perfect.

Additionally, your last 500 edits go back to 2011, and long periods of inactivity bring about the risk of missing important policy changes, some of which may be pertinent for NPP work. I suggest you brush up on WP:NPP and WP:SD and gain experience correctly marking pages for deletion before re-requesting this permission. Complex/Rational 03:43, 28 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
