"Commonly known"
[edit]Typically, plant vernacular names are not so commonly known. In the case of Geranium traversii I was able to find one reliable (but primary) source that even ventured to give the species a vernacular name. Going forward, please refrain from placing the terms "commonly known" or "common name" into plant articles unless you can provide an independent secondary source that verifies and analyzes the commonness of the name. Thanks in advance, Abductive (reasoning) 07:55, 12 July 2025 (UTC)
- Considering NZPCN labels it as a "common name", made me think that is the common name for the species. Alexeyevitch(talk) 08:09, 12 July 2025 (UTC)

- It is used in the article. If you think it is insufficient, remove it. Alexeyevitch(talk) 11:13, 12 July 2025 (UTC)

Destubathon runs until the 16th of July
[edit]Hi, just a courtesy message to notify you in case you haven't seen the Wikipedia:The World Destubathon contest update in the last few days that we've decided to run the full month until the 16th of July. For those who have been too busy to contribute, we would love some help in reaching 4000 articles by Wednesday night! At present we're about 480 articles short!♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:38, 13 July 2025 (UTC)

citations are not banned from lead paragraphs and when an article has a (far too) long lead, are (in my view) absolutely necessary.MargaretRDonald (talk) 02:39, 7 August 2025 (UTC)
- I understand now why you removed citations in the lead paragraph. However, there remain numerous uncited facts in the article (& one "fact" which is incorrect), which are unreferenced. I fail to understand how an article can be "good" or "featured" when it fails to honour one of the fundamental tenets of Wikipedia. MargaretRDonald (talk) 11:23, 7 August 2025 (UTC)
Insects living in Rimu
[edit]I saw that you've nominated Rimu for FA. Good work! In case you haven't seen it, here is a pretty thorough list of insects associated with Rimu: https://plant-synz.landcareresearch.co.nz/ReportForm.aspx?RecordId=411&Type=P&ReportType=Adv&SortBy=Alpha&Biostatus=a,c,e,n Most have references associated with them you could take a look at. I leave it to your discretion which to include if any.AxonsArachnida (talk) 08:48, 9 August 2025 (UTC)
- Wow that's so many! I mostly included the ones listed in a revision of the species, which included the huhu beetle. But this resource is helpful though! Alexeyevitch(talk) 08:55, 9 August 2025 (UTC)
