How to sort sidebar

John M Wolfson, you say this sidebar should be sorted by population. Here's the issue: it's not currently. That would look like this: NYC, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Albany. Furthermore, to my knowledge, no other sidebar in Category:United States election year sidebar templates sorts non-alphabetically. AllegedlyHuman (talk) 20:33, 22 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

• I noticed {{Elections in Illinois sidebar}} has Chicago first, but that's likely due to the small sample size that is also consistent with alphabetical order. I'm fine following whatever consensus forms from this.  – John M Wolfson (talk • contribs) 21:28, 22 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
