Major League Baseball page's infobox

Whatever mechanism is being used on the team pages' infoboxes, to keep them from updating (until New Year's Day) to 2026? We should adopt it to the MLB page, so IPs will stop changing it to the 2026 season, between now & New Year's. The 2025 season (and playoffs) only ended a mere few weeks ago. Runs scored leader in infobox

Hey everyone, not sure if this was discussed before or if there was consensus already, but was wondering if it was ok to add runs scored leader in player infoboxes. I came across the addition already at Mookie Betts and am not aware of it being listed for anyone else, but would be happy to start adding it to all other players. • It's not on the consensus list in WP:BASESTYLEPL.

Personally, I don't think it should be added, since runs scored is rather dependent on a team's and spot in the batting order rather than a player's skill. (Similarly, hits are excluded while batting average isn't. Conversely, RBI are included, but they're a more commonly used historical counting stat).

I think more career stats could be included (why only HR and SB?), but that's a different discussion Sloopyploop (talk) 08:31, 17 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Misidentifications?

I think this file rename request is possibly correct File:Buttercupdickerson.jpg. That same user has also made this edit. And this one and that. Does anyone know if they are correct? I know literally nothing about baseball. Polygnotus (talk) 16:57, 4 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion about WikiProject banner templates

For WikiProjects that participate in rating articles, the banners for talk pages usually say something like:

• "This article has been rated as Low-importance on the importance scale."

There is a proposal to change the default wording on the banners to say "priority" instead of "importance". This could affect the template for your group.
