Hello @Wikideas1! I am a new page reviewer on Wikipedia. I have taken a look at your list article, List of PHP software and tools, and it appears to be entirely sourced by GitHub. GitHub, to my knowledge, is a self-published source which ordinarily means it should not be used on Wikipedia. I am unaware of whether GitHub is an acceptable source when it comes to software specific articles, so for this review I am relying on the information that is available in this discussion. Specifically the following:

'Github itself isn't a source, it's just a place for people to create accounts and upload code and other stuff. All content is entirely user generated. If it's GitHub documentation itself about Github as an entity or service, maybe, but otherwise no. The only reason I can think of is X provides the source code for Y on GitHub. Maybe A code does B, but I think that would be better to have a third party reliable source make the statement about what the code does rather than the, possibly, original research of reading the code and making the claim.'

With this knowledge, I am going to ask that you replace the GitHub sources with reliable secondary sources from reputable websites and publications. I have left the relevant template tags on the article so that other editors are aware of this. Thank you and happy editing! 11WB (talk) 10:20, 13 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
