Old England (periodical) moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Old England (periodical). Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Randykitty (talk) 17:47, 23 July 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, your periodical articles are really well done! They are very interesting to learn about. I will note to make sure to put punctuation before the citations rather than after. I also recommended looking into using direct inline citations rather than the sfn template. It's personal preference, so you can do whichever, but putting the information directly into the inline citation makes it a lot easier for people to get to the source if you're not using multiple page numbers. -- NotCharizard 🗨 15:35, 20 August 2025 (UTC)

~ L 🌸 (talk) 03:00, 3 September 2025 (UTC)- I wanted to add a personal note thanking you for writing this great article on 18thC print history! I also wanted to suggest that the article would be even better if the lead was a little longer -- WP:LEAD explains that a good lead functions as a standalone summary of the article as a whole, and the main article about The Protester now has lots of great information that doesn't get any mention in the lead. Once you've expanded the lead, you could consider nominating the article to be an official Good Article -- I'd be happy to offer advice on the GA process if it intrigues you. Regardless of where your interest goes next, thanks again for your contributions, keep up the good work, and happy editing! ~ L 🌸 (talk) 03:08, 3 September 2025 (UTC)
- I'm working on articles around my ancestor James Ralph. At the moment, I'm just trying to get what I've written up to B class. I'll worry about GA once I've got everything in that range. Trinsics (talk) 12:16, 3 September 2025 (UTC)

Hoary (talk) 05:08, 17 September 2025 (UTC)- LEvalyn's comment in the thread above seconded, for the most part. (Where I differ is that I can't give advice for GA, the most recent of my very few attempts at this not only failing, but actually being "quickfailed".) A small point, but WP uses what's very grandly called "logical punctuation" by some who use it (and perhaps "hideous punctuation", "mispunctuation" or worse by some who don't). -- Hoary (talk) 06:57, 17 September 2025 (UTC)
