Oliver Stretton-Pow moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Oliver Stretton-Pow. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because you may have a possible Conflict of Interest, it consists of machine-generated text and Noticing LLM style writing in the film and media, commissions, and media coverage sections. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Sarsenethe/they•(talk) 13:03, 11 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

To ensure that it is human-written and adheres to Wikipedia's neutral tone, I have completely rewritten the article Oliver Stretton-Pow in my own words. The draft's more than forty references, including independent coverage (such as *Art News NZ*, *Waiheke Gulf News*, *NZ Herald*, *Mindfood*, and Sculpture on the Gulf catalogues), have all been kept. Additionally, images have been restored.
Although the previous draft was labeled as "machine-generated," this issue has been resolved. The current version conforms with WP:V, WP:RS, and WP:NPOV and is fully sourced. TeamNZer (talk) 17:01, 11 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, TeamNZer, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, which will be reviewed by other editors. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, visit the Teahouse, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! [edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Oliver Streton Pow art.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. Hello TeamNZer. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:TeamNZer. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=TeamNZer|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. DoubleGrazing (talk) 14:52, 15 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@DoubleGrazing I want to clarify that I am not being directly or indirectly compensated for my edits. I am contributing in good faith as a volunteer editor and am still learning Wikipedia’s policies and processes. Thank you for pointing this out. TeamNZer (talk) 15:07, 15 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
So how would you describe, in your own words, your relationship for example with the Alta company? -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 15:47, 15 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Ann Handley moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Ann Handley. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. DoubleGrazing (talk) 15:48, 15 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Vilhelm Hedberg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Oliver Stretton-Pow

[edit]

I would like to understand the genesis of the Oliver Stretton-Pow article. Maybe you can help me?

As your very first edit, you dropped a fully-fledged, 15 kbyte draft into your sandbox. (Just for perspective, I think I had edited here for several years before creating my first article. But perhaps I'm just slow.) Then you made ten or so pointless dummy edits, each time self-reverting them, which gained you autoconfirmed status. And then you moved Oliver Stretton-Pow into the main article space. Apart from the obvious gaming of the AC status, this all looks peculiar to me. Is there anything you can share about that process, which might allay my concerns?

And while we're on the subject, do you have any sort of external (real-life) relationship with Oliver Stretton-Pow?

Thanks, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 16:33, 15 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your contributions to Irish actors that appeared on Emmerdale. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

I'm having some serious problems with the pagespace and draftspace being created by this new contributor. They don't seem to be getting what WP:NOTABILITY means to wikipedians. Draft:Irish actors that appeared on Emmerdale, as an example, tells us a great deal. For example, I don't see a single article presented (or that I found) about any group of Irish actors appearing in Emmerdale. I see a stack of articles which call to attention individual Irish actors who happened to appear in this television show. So the basis of the article is TeamNZer's own inference that this is a notable topic. Unless they can present or locate an article talking about a set of Irish actors who appeared on the show, we're looking at WP:Original synthesis. We already have an entire list article on List of Emmerdale characters. In this case, I must applaud the user for writing something which doesn't readily appear as undeclared paid work. At this point I'm almost ready to block this account from creating any new pagespace. I'd love to assume good faith, but I feel tested. BusterD (talk) 18:06, 15 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
