Help finding source

[edit]

I'm trying to find any information about a school that was built in Forks in 1916. In this diff, you cite this clipping that talks about Forks getting a new school. It doesn't mention what happened to the old one, but the clipping is incomplete. Clipping ends with "Continued on Last Page" Any chance you could take a look at the last page and let me know if it says anything about the 1916 school? @Evvekk: The second part of the article is clipped here. WP:TWL can help with Newspapers.com access in the future. SounderBruce 04:58, 2 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Congratulations, SounderBruce! The list you nominated, List of cities in Oregon, has been promoted to featured status, recognizing it as one of the best lists on Wikipedia. The nomination discussion has been archived.
This is a rare accomplishment and you should be proud. If you would like, you may nominate it to appear on the Main page as Today's featured list. Keep up the great work! Cheers, PresN (talk) via FACBot (talk) 00:25, 6 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Newspaper Citations

[edit]

@SounderBruce: - Thank you for your newspaper citation assistance with Glassmaking at Blenko Glass Company. I learned something new, and had never heard of "via" in a newspaper citation. Question about "via=Chronicling America": Is that preferred over "U.S. Library of Congress"? I know that in Chronicling America their citation examples say "Retrieved from the Library of Congress". TwoScars (talk) 18:49, 10 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@TwoScars: The via field is normally used for when there's a link to a newspaper archive website's clipping feature, e.g. this article at Newspapers.com. It is highly recommended that the relevant clippings be added to make GA reviews easier, especially if you are accessing them through these databases in the first place. As for Chronicling America, I would recommend using the program's name rather than the generic LoC. SounderBruce 20:01, 10 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I'll try clipping in the future. I was afraid to do any clipping through the Wikipedia Library. TwoScars (talk) 20:51, 10 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

GA review?

[edit]

I've nominated Bridge for GA, and I noticed that your article Link light rail is listed. Would you consider reviewing Bridge? ... I'd be happy to review Link light rail. I've used GA Review Circles in the past, but they tend to be rather shallow reviews. If you prefer to avoid any "quid pro quo" implications that come with swapping reviews, no worries. @Noleander: Kudos for tackling such a big topic. I did a sweep of some citation formatting stuff, but I can't commit to a full review at this time due to quite a few major projects in the pipeline. Thank you for the offer. SounderBruce 00:31, 20 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, thanks for considering it. Noleander (talk) 02:57, 20 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
