Standard notice

[edit]
This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in the Syrian Civil War and ISIL. Due to past disruption in this topic area, the community has authorised uninvolved administrators to impose contentious topics restrictions—such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks—on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, expected standards of behaviour, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on these sanctions. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Red-tailed hawk (nest) 03:24, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please be aware that there is a topic-wide one revert rule for all pages related to the Syrian Civil War. You have made two reverts to Syria within the past 24 hours, including this one and this one. Please self-revert your most recent edit. Also, please note that any other reverts that you make to content that others have inserted within the next 24 hours may result in a block or sanction, unless an obvious exception applies. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 03:32, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. A tag has been placed on Category:Massacres in 2025 indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

Michael Bloomberg, Awards and honors

Hi, Scu ba. Nice to meet you. I'm new to Wikipedia and am still figuring things out. I know that my COI with all articles related to Bloomberg Philanthropies prevents me from making substantial content changes, which is why I am reaching out to you about Michael Bloomberg's article. I saw your membership in BLPs and New York City and would appreciate your help with adding missing awards and honors from the relevant section of Mr. Bloomberg's article. I posted the details on the Talk page and would be grateful for your input and implementation. If you give me the go-ahead, I'm happy to add these to the article myself, if that's easier. February 2025

[edit]
Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Luna 25 shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. March 2025

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. 331dot (talk) 08:32, 31 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

???? Where on earth am I edit warring? Scuba 13:22, 31 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Forgot to link it; on Emil Pagliarulo. 331dot (talk) 13:31, 31 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I don't have any plans to change the current version of the document, but an IP user had been trying to delete most of it, or re-work it into a single section along the lines of "twitter drama" instead of sections being broken down into games. Not sure if that is an edit war. Scuba 13:32, 31 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You repeatedly reverted the information that is in dispute instead of attempting to engage the other user(I warned them, too). If you have no intentions of editing the article further, though, okay. 331dot (talk) 14:12, 31 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I have to congratulate you on the Triad article creation - as fine a bit of historical sleuthing as I've ever seen. In this edit summary you state that "it's been agreed by the editors of the conclave article to NOT HAVE IT ON THE CONCLAVE ARTICLE". Could you please link where that discussion and agreement occurred? Sundayclose (talk) 02:52, 3 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Check back in the edit history, there is a big back and forth and while 'agree' might not be the right word, there are more editors that just delete the list than there are editors that add the list back. I view that as the closest thing to an agreement that you can reach on Wikipedia. Scuba 13:30, 3 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No, an agreement occurs when there is WP:CONSENSUS in a talk page discussion, not by counting the reverts. Consensus is not a vote, especially when counted by a single editor from tallying reverts. Please don't make such deceptive edit summaries. Thank you. Sundayclose (talk) 14:13, 3 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
