Speedy deletion nomination of User:Habatat
[edit]
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on User:Habatat, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
- It appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free Web hosting service. (See section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion.)
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. — ERcheck (talk) 00:07, 15 September 2025 (UTC)
Username issue - promotional editing
[edit] Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Habatat", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually (not your role), such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".
Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. Alternatively, you can just create a new account and use that for editing. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. — ERcheck (talk) 00:07, 15 September 2025 (UTC)
Hello, Habatat. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page User:Habatat, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the Edit Request Wizard), including links or details of reliable sources that support your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. — ERcheck (talk) 00:08, 15 September 2025 (UTC)
Block notice
[edit]
If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:
- Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
- Provide a new username.
To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.
Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Deb (talk) 07:39, 15 September 2025 (UTC)

- Hi there! To help us respond to the request, please do the following:
- Review Wikipedia's payment disclosure and conflict of interest policies and guidelines, then explain how those apply to your block.

- Thank you! Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 16:22, 15 September 2025 (UTC)
- Noting I have renamed this account; I will let another admin review the block once the user responds to the above queries. CoconutOctopus talk 18:18, 15 September 2025 (UTC)
- HABATAT is the name of the art gallery that Corey Hampson owns and manages. I can see that it could be a conflict of interest in a way of self promotion which goes against the guidelines and policies of Wikipedia therefore I’d like to remove the name HABATAT from the user name RandallThompson which has no affiliation with both Corey Hampson and or habatat galleries. I am interested in adhering to The guidelines and policies of Wikipedia and request to make the changes to do so Habatat (talk) 16:35, 15 September 2025 (UTC)
- Only one open request is needed at a time; subsequent comments should be made without the unblock request template/formatting. Again, please respond to the questions posed by CoconutOctopus above. The username issue is now resolved, now we need to address the block itself. 331dot (talk) 19:23, 15 September 2025 (UTC)
- 1.Habatat is a name of the art gallery that is owned and operated by Corey hampson. Based on the COI from Wikipedia the name of the user can not be used to promote or advertise. Thr user name has been changed from Habatat to RandallThompson which has no affiliation to Habatat, Habatat galleries or Corey hampson and is not used to promote or advertise.
- 2. The types of edits would be made to the following if unblocked: any promotion or adverting which includes social media links that are self serving will be removed and the entire structure will be recreated to fit the standards and polics required to become less bias and more educational. A draft has been written and would like to rework the narrative to be not self serving in nature to Corey hampson or habatat galleries. RandallThompson (talk) 20:13, 15 September 2025 (UTC)

In fact, if you are employed by Habatat or you are a paid third-party representative of their interests, then you must disclose this, per Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure policy. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 14:08, 16 September 2025 (UTC)
