2024 Salvadoran presidential election
[edit]Hi Number 57! I recently got the article for 2024 Salvadoran presidential election to GA. I would like to get it to FA if possible. I asked an FA mentor about it and they said that it could face difficulties as it relies on contemporary news coverage instead of later scholarly assessments. Do you have any advice for improvements that can be made before an FAC? PizzaKing13 (¡Hablame!) 🍕👑 20:09, 29 July 2025 (UTC)
- I'm not Number 57, but I know how FAC works. I think that the issue with this article in general is that although sources may be reliable, they might not be of high-quality which is required at FAC level. It's up to the source reviewer to decide. Vacant0 (talk • contribs) 21:10, 29 July 2025 (UTC)
- Apologies – not sure I can add too much TBH as haven't ever done GA/FAC stuff. Might be worth having a look to see if there are any journal articles on the election published in the last year or so? Number 57 00:01, 30 July 2025 (UTC)
- My suggestion to you, PizzaKing13, is that if you want to take an article to FAC level, you should chose a historical article which has bibliographical coverage, and not only news coverage. If you need any help regarding FAC, feel free to contact me on my talk page. Vacant0 (talk • contribs) 20:21, 1 August 2025 (UTC)
- "A historical article which has bibliographical coverage", LOL. Those pretty much don't exist for El Salvador. The closest I've been able to find is 1919 Salvadoran presidential election and its based on 1 source. Maybe 1935 Salvadoran presidential election. - It doesn't have to be an election, really. Meléndez–Quiñónez dynasty looks like a better candidate to me. Vacant0 (talk • contribs) 20:33, 1 August 2025 (UTC)
- FA is my goal for that one. I'm currently waiting for FA mentor comments from AirshipJungleman29 right now, but I would appreciate any comments on it from anyone. PizzaKing13 (¡Hablame!) 🍕👑 20:55, 1 August 2025 (UTC)
- I'll take a look at the article next week and will drop off comments on its talk page if that sounds good to you? Vacant0 (talk • contribs) 21:04, 1 August 2025 (UTC)
