Character creation
[edit]Hi there. Nice work reshaping some character articles. The only one I created was Lars in the past but that was around a decade ago. I also tried recreating some SNK character articles recently since there wasn't really much commentary like and tried recreating Ryo Sakazaki, Yuri Sakazaki and Rock Howard. Feel free to revisit it anyone. Still, the newest character from SNK that barely has an article is Ash Crimson and is from 2003. I thought about writing about King from Art of Fighting due to how she was one of the first female characters from gaming but the reveal of her gender comes across as a bit sexist. However, that name makes it impossible. If you find any useful source as potential feel free to add it. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.Tintor2 (talk) 22:52, 26 December 2024 (UTC)
- That character seems to have no major commentary. This is the only valuable source I could find about King for now. [1] Kazama16 (talk) 06:13, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
- I see. Thanks still. Tintor2 (talk) 19:47, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
- by any chance have you seen articles focused on the Tekken 8 story mode? Might be useful for Jin and Kazuya. Liu Kang and Raiden got notable response from the media thanks to mk11. I only found some general complaints regarding the return of Heihachi Tintor2 (talk) 15:43, 16 January 2025 (UTC)
- Well, regarding story mode I found only one good source [2] However, I also found some additional sources that would be noteworthy to be included in reception.[3] [4] Kazama16 (talk) 16:33, 16 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks. The truth is that these two articles became GA before the overhaul in regards to reception sections so if you notice any useless source feel free to remove it. Cheers. Tintor2 (talk) 22:39, 16 January 2025 (UTC)

Yuri Sakazaki was nominated to deletion due to notability issues but I couldn't find anything that might help despite being as infamous as King due to the way she can be defeated or treated as a woman in the early games. I only found two scholars discussing the character but the one in charge of deleting it still wants to delete it. If you find anything, I would appreciate if you poste it into the deletion page at this place.Tintor2 (talk) 17:36, 28 January 2025 (UTC)
- "Tiago Frosi (2010) and Felipe Frosi (2010) provide some examples of the representation of female characters in fighting games. The authors provide examples of some distinct characters in fighting games. The first is the character Yuri Sakazaki from the game Art of Fighting (1992). Initially, she was a replica of the idealized stereotype for women, a young woman dressed in pink, fragile and who must be rescued by strong and courageous characters. An initial model that went against the emancipation achieved by women in this period. In later versions, the character Yuri presents herself as a karate-ka. In the game's story, she is trained by her father and goes against all of her brother's sexist ideas, characterizing the example of women's transformation within the game. The character also becomes an icon among the female audience in Japan" – [5] (translated from page 65, third paragraph). That's good but I guess not enough for notability. I'll try to research and post the sources to AFD if I find something valuable. Thanks. Kazama16 (talk) 18:19, 28 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for the help. That also helped to expand Ryo Sakazaki's article a bit since Frosi had already talked about his fighting style and the real reasons with why he is so similar to Street Fighter characters Tintor2 (talk) 00:39, 29 January 2025 (UTC)
Sub-Zero
[edit]After seeing your edits to Kano, I tried doing something similar to Sub-Zero to see if we can also remove the tags soon. I tried trimming the plot summaries of Sub-Zero's games to at least one sentence. Feel free to revise the article.Tintor2 (talk) 14:30, 2 February 2025 (UTC)
Thanks for copyediting Yuri. I started working on an Angel article since there are some notable comments about how she is one of the most famous Mexican fighters with moves based on real wrestlers. I couldn't find much in google book despite there being comparisons to wrestlers from Tekken. Feel free to add or revise anything.Tintor2 (talk) 00:54, 10 February 2025 (UTC)
Btw, I tried trimming Ryo Sakazaki as much as possible to look like a proper GA by trimming the reception section to vital points and balancing the amount of notable information including creation too. If possible, could you revise it and copyedit any notable grammar mistakes? I asked in the Guild but the user stopped. Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 00:21, 21 February 2025 (UTC)
- The article is quite big so obviously it will take time for someone to copyedit this. It still needs some trimming. Although I'm not sensing any other major problems with the article though. Good luck with the GAN. Kazama16 (talk) 07:38, 21 February 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks. It's just that I was worried about notability issues but also how much should I present. Tintor2 (talk) 12:51, 21 February 2025 (UTC)
Good news: Ryo Sakazaki became GA. I'll see if I can make the same with Yuri.Tintor2 (talk) 21:12, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
Cukie helped me remade Noob Saibot if you are interested.Tintor2 (talk) 00:59, 28 September 2025 (UTC)
Nina Williams
[edit]I'm currently working to get Nina Williams to GA. I'm planning to add more info from her incarnation in her own game Death by Degrees, and do some copy editing before sending it to GAN. Do you have any other suggestions for the article? MoonJet (talk) 05:35, 1 March 2025 (UTC)
- The design and gameplay section needs expansion people would noticeably wonder why there's no information about her Tekken 8 iteration. Also, expand the lead as well. Appearances section needs trimming it was fine before don't know what happened to it. Maybe some user added excessive details, anyway, aside from that, it looks fine to me. Kazama16 (talk) 06:10, 1 March 2025 (UTC)
- Well, I added some details on her Tekken 8 design earlier. I agree that the lead could use a little more. As for the appearance section, someone else recently added more details to it. Do you think should revert all their additions, or simply trim it down again? MoonJet (talk) 06:19, 1 March 2025 (UTC)
- I would say revert their additions. Kazama16 (talk) 06:28, 1 March 2025 (UTC)

Ling Xiaoyu
[edit]Hey, I'm currently working on bringing back Ling Xiaoyu's article as well. What do you think of my draft so far? 95% of the draft has been written from ground up, and I plan to fill out the "design and gameplay" section soon. MoonJet (talk) 03:04, 24 March 2025 (UTC)
- The draft looks alright but could be much better. I'll look forward to what you plan to do for her dev info :) Kazama16 (talk) 07:37, 24 March 2025 (UTC)

Replaceable non-free use File:Pac-Man design.png
[edit]
Thanks for uploading File:Pac-Man design.png. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}}below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing<your reason>with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file's talk page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 999real (talk) 17:58, 15 April 2025 (UTC)

Hi there. Long time no see. I wanted to ask you since you are an expert finding big notable sources about reception just like you did with Jin Kazama for Tekken 8 but by any chance have you seen commentary about Rock Howard's role in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves? He is the main character of the story and hasn't got much reception about his character besides his popularity in general besides his DLC appearances or his role in the previous Fatal Fury. Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 21:02, 28 May 2025 (UTC)
By the way, some years ago I created this article but got merged due to a discussion. You could it be notable enough with some sources to become an article again? There's a lot of commentary about Yozora feeling like alternate take of Final Fantasy XV and he being one of the hardest bosses in RPG history.Tintor2 (talk) 00:30, 29 June 2025 (UTC)
- I tried searching up deeply and there were mostly Valnet sources so here's the best I could found. [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] and these two Valnet ones. [12] [13] Kazama16 (talk) 05:09, 29 June 2025 (UTC)
- Other than that, I found this academic study in Spanish that discusses the boss theme of Yozora "Nachtflügel". [14] (page 63) Kazama16 (talk) 05:33, 29 June 2025 (UTC)
- Recreated Yozora. Thanks for the help. Feel free to give it a look and reflect what parts could be revised. Tintor2 (talk) 21:39, 29 June 2025 (UTC)
- Well, I'm going to be honest, the article looks fine for most part but reception looks a bit junky. Some sources seem questionable like Hitc, Noisy Pixel, DL Private server. I also suggest removing the Game Rant sources (as they widely are considered of bad quality) and instead try to expand more from the reliable sources. Kazama16 (talk) 23:40, 29 June 2025 (UTC)
- @Tintor2, by the way, if you are thinking of what to work on next, I would suggest that you work on Boa Hancock from One Piece. I know you are familiar with it. I'm completely sure that the character is notable. [15] and this study [16] (page no. 7, 8, and 9). Kazama16 (talk) 07:48, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- I didn't write the One Piece articles but I fear most of them need some clean up. Some sections kinda delve into fancruft comments. There was once a Shanks article but it was directly copied from the Wiki. I was recently researching Krohnen McDougall/K9999 since his character is quite controversial for being a ripoff to the movie Akira enough to remade in KOFXV but sadly I could barely find two sources. Good work on T. Hawk
[edit]Let me know if you ever find anything really useful for Sodom. I dug hard, but ran out of steam on my sandbox. Kung Fu Man (talk) 18:54, 1 July 2025 (UTC)
- These are useful for general information. [17] [18] and this one can be used for reception. [19] I also found some high-coverage sources but don't have any idea about their credibility. [20] [21] [22] Kazama16 (talk) 09:23, 2 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Kung Fu Man, odd question, but do you know how to access this without paying for the subscription? [23] Kazama16 (talk) 14:38, 22 July 2025 (UTC)
- Sadly no, though I feel like it might be a source worth skipping.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 15:19, 22 July 2025 (UTC)
Shaheen
[edit]You seem to be really good at finding sources. I'm currently working on Shaheen from Tekken. Do you have any good sources I haven't added to my draft? MoonJet (talk) 04:56, 3 July 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah, here's some I found. [24] [25] [26] [27] Kazama16 (talk) 08:47, 3 July 2025 (UTC)
- The first two sources seem to be pretty good. Are the other two reliable though? From what I've seen, they don't seem to be the best of sources. MoonJet (talk) 09:11, 3 July 2025 (UTC)
- As per my observation. FandomWire is a usable source to some extent. As they have a fact-checking policy. [28] and has worked with and been mentioned by well-known websites and companies. [29] Can't say anything about the fourth source though, potentially a content farm kinda source. Kazama16 (talk) 10:55, 3 July 2025 (UTC)
- I've added several more sources to my draft. I just need to add his appearances and a summary of his story, and I should be almost done. What do you think so far? MoonJet (talk) 00:26, 8 July 2025 (UTC)
- I feel like there needs to be some more reception for the character from Tekken 8. The section feels incomplete without it. Kazama16 (talk) 03:15, 8 July 2025 (UTC)

Thanks for revisiting Angel. If possible could you give Goenitz a look? It's also a small article I made some months ago but didn't request a copyedit since I was more concerned about the visual novel KOF: Kyo since that game had no article in any Wikipedia probably due to lack of localizations.Tintor2 (talk) 21:13, 7 July 2025 (UTC)

AfC notification: Draft:Anna Williams (Tekken) has a new comment
[edit]
- @Notcharizard, nearly every statement is supported by all three citations except for "To keep both new and old fans happy, Tekken 8 includes alternate outfits that bring back classic looks alongside the new ones". This one is particularly by Automation. Is there any other issues you see with the draft? Kazama16 (talk) 14:54, 27 July 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for clarifying!
- In regards to other issues, some of the tone is a bit unencyclopedic, such as "Anna is brunette and has a more fun-loving personality as opposed to Nina's cold-blooded side" and "He described the rivalry between Anna and Nina as filled with over-the-top moments like stolen outfits, public slaps" if these are the words used by the reviewer, then you may be too closely paraphrasing the text.
- I think that the critical reception by specific writers could be sumamrised more, a whole paragraph on each reviewer feels unecessary. I also do not think a whole paragraph on her appearance is necessary, and is probably fancruft. These issues would likely not stop the draft getting approved, but I do think they would improve the content and readability. I also personally appreciate statements being cited directly rather than at the end of a paragraph, as I am am never sure if the person is citing the whole paragraph or just the last statement.
- Overall it is a very strong draft! -- NotCharizard 🗨 15:18, 27 July 2025 (UTC)
- I have made some changes to the draft. Do you think it's an improvement? Also, to be honest, I have nothing left to add to the draft except story details that may be considered fancruft-ish, and the review process is going very slowly, so the wait is starting to get tiring for me. By the way, if you have some material to add or improvements to make, then feel free to contribute :) Kazama16 (talk) 19:55, 8 August 2025 (UTC)
- Whoops, forgot to ping @Notcharizard. Also, you can remove your comment from the draft as I resolved and clarified that issue for you. Kazama16 (talk) 07:17, 9 August 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Kula Diamond used to have an article that was merged due to dated notability content not suitable nowaday. I tried cleaning it up here in my sandbox but couldn't find any notable reception about her. There is a lot of development since her debut so I wondered if you know some notable sources that might help. Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 18:17, 17 August 2025 (UTC)

Anna Williams
[edit]Why haven't you split her out? I feel like, in its current state, it seems like it could stand. Cukie Gherkin (talk) 09:40, 19 October 2025 (UTC)
- I had submitted the draft but it got declined. You can see the reasoning here: Draft: Anna Williams (Tekken). The reviewer told me to start a discussion at the talk page of the parent article, which I already did at Talk:Characters of the Tekken series and waiting for a proper consensus. I still want to split the character out but can't force it as of now to not get in trouble. I also regret the decision of making draft for the character instead of being bold and recreating the article directly. Kazama16 (talk) 14:23, 19 October 2025 (UTC)
Sorry for butting in but I was wondering if Robert Garcia from Art of Fighting and The King of Fighters has potential. He is Ryo Sakazaki's coprotagonist but I couldn't find anything notable about him even though Capcom created Dan Hibiki as a parody of him probably because Ryo was nearly identical to Ryu and Ken Masters. I'm asking you since you always find useful content. There is also the character Takuma Sakazaki also called Mr. Karate who I found some commentary about comparison with famous Japanese martial artists. Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 15:40, 19 October 2025 (UTC)
Akira Yuki
[edit]Hi there. Are the Akira Yuki sources that weak? I was curious about reviving the article since I saw several third party articles to be devoted to Akira Yuki's character and his fame by being added to other games as guest https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Akira_Yuki&diff=prev&oldid=1152320867 Then again, I'm not sure if some are reliable. There is one book in creation that might be more suited for creation since it's a scholar comparing him with Ryu rather than describing his creation. Cheers. Tintor2 (talk) 22:07, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
- I moved the article to my sandbox and found some scholars discussing him.Tintor2 (talk) 22:53, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
- I would advise not rushing it out and keep improving, and don't add random sources that you think can't be relied on. Kazama16 (talk) 03:02, 30 October 2025 (UTC)
- I see. Do you suggest creating a draft page? Tintor2 (talk) 10:13, 30 October 2025 (UTC)
- Which strong sources have you found specifically about this character? Kazama16 (talk) 17:04, 30 October 2025 (UTC)
- On a second thought it's kinda weak. The most notable source is a commercial that used Akira Yuki and I don't have access to the scholar work. Another kinda strong is the Dead or Alive producer expressing joy over Akira being a guest but the rest of the sources are kinda weak. It doesn't help that Akira Yuki is one of the most common names for Japanese people and Virtua Fighter doesn't seem to have much narrative. There is another Virtua Fighter article but that one has some themes popular to discuss similar to when I wrote King from Art of Fighting whose androgynous looks appeal to the media Tintor2 (talk) 20:30, 30 October 2025 (UTC)

I researched more and wondered if the beta Shenmue version of Akira is worth mentioning in reception since there is critical response to such idea and comparison with the player character from Shenmue. Still, I'm not sure if the writer from Dengeki Bunko is a reliable source.Tintor2 (talk) 23:37, 31 October 2025 (UTC)
Created a Draft:Akira Yuki.Tintor2 (talk) 04:41, 1 November 2025 (UTC)
- Looks good. I have a question, you mainly work creating articles in your own sandbox, so why did you choose to open a public draft instead of working in your sandbox? I'm concerned because I did the same with Anna Williams of Tekken. I had strong sources, but it still got declined. You can see the discussion above where I talk about it. I'm just concerned that it would be treated the same. Though I hope not. Kazama16 (talk) 06:26, 1 November 2025 (UTC)
- Sorry. It's just I'm not experienced with Virtua Fighter and was confused about what to do since Noob Saibot was remerged. Tintor2 (talk) 13:47, 1 November 2025 (UTC)
- I gave it a bigger makeover. I tried relying on stronger sources like scholars, books and a Famitsu article filled with commentary about a crossover. Still, I'm not really too experienced when it comes to the series. Feel free to edit it. Tintor2 (talk) 22:57, 10 November 2025 (UTC)

About Tetris
[edit]I highly appreciate that you've come out of your way to message me about this. Again, I do apologize if my previous messages came out harshly. I'll lay out my argument.
Tetris is listed as the best-selling game. This would be my preferred scenario. My argument is that, even though some other sources have disagreements on how to count Tetris, others (the majority) have no such disagreements and simply state that it is Tetris. By the reasoning that's currently present in the article, Minecraft is "determined" to be the best-selling game because a minority of sources disagree on Tetris' counting. However, if Tetris can't be placed at the top of the list due to some sources disagreeing, then Minecraft shouldn't be placed at the top due to most sources saying that it simply isn't the best-selling game. This scenario has the support of most reliable sources.
I've seen that you've made some changes, and I appreciate that as well, it doesn't feel very substantial. However, I am certain that with discussion, we can come to an agreement. I am amenable to compromises that you may propose. Man-Man122 (talk) 19:42, 31 October 2025 (UTC)
- I think this situation is only going to get more complicated. If both Tetris and Minecraft are contentious to be placed at top then how would it even work? Most sources don't have disagreement about Tetris because they haven't researched enough about Tetris like BBC and Guinness World Records. Most sources is typically saying the same thing and would be treated as "one collective perspective" or something like that as they don't apply enough logic (which is completely okay even if they are credible). I accept they are reliable but again try to examine it yourself logically. What arguments can you provide other than "most reliable sources cite it as best-selling game"? Kazama16 (talk) 20:47, 31 October 2025 (UTC)
- Well, it is the most important argument, full-stop. I fail to see how, by Wikipedia's standards, another would be needed. Saying that those sources simply "haven't researched enough about Tetris" is purely speculative. You have no evidence for that claim. I was saying that, for the same logic that Tetris would be contentious, Minecraft would be contentious as well. It's a statement meant to point out the flaw in the article's logic for disallowing Tetris, not to say that they should both be kicked off the list. Man-Man122 (talk) 21:12, 31 October 2025 (UTC)
- I'm not speculating and stating the fact. They are simply listing Tetris at the top without any further research, how can you not doubt that? There's also a major dispute for Tetris identity, would you also ignore that? Tetris is not disallowed in a complete sense; its highest-selling release, which is on the Game Boy console is listed on the article. I don't think this case will be resolved easily, so I suggest you consult with more experienced editors at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Video games for this case and add a discussion about it. If they found your points valid, then congrats. Good luck. Kazama16 (talk) 21:48, 31 October 2025 (UTC)
- Prove that they haven't researched enough if it's a fact. If anything, it's plainly obvious that they did do their research (most of them have entire paragraphs about it and Forbes had the entire page about it) but just count it differently from this article. Among reliable sources, there is little dispute on Tetris' identity. If this actually is the last message that you plan on sending, then I will go and take it up with them. Man-Man122 (talk) 22:08, 31 October 2025 (UTC)
- Yes you should take it to them. I usually prefer to go to them for really complex matters like this. Kazama16 (talk) 22:14, 31 October 2025 (UTC)

Anna Williams (2)
[edit]Do you have any intent on posting Anna Williams to mainspace? While it was declined, as an AfC reviewer, I do not agree with that decision, and believe it is notable. Cukie Gherkin (talk) 07:09, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
- I have resubmitted the draft. You can review and give your opinions. Kazama16 (talk) 08:08, 13 November 2025 (UTC)

Cukie Gherkin (talk) 16:36, 13 November 2025 (UTC)Also, on Anna Williams' image, I was almost thinking using her Tekken Tag Tournament image for the lead: [30] and using her Tekken 8 image in reception: [31] Thoughts? I don't mind the image in the lead, though I think it's a little wide. - Cukie Gherkin (talk) 19:25, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
- You can change or adjust the image for your preference if you want. I have no issue with that. I just felt that I should use an image that would suggest how Anna is, basically her seductive side, which is why I chose this one. Other illustrations seemed boring imo. Kazama16 (talk) 19:56, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
- By the way, don't you think the article is closer to being B-class? Almost every relevant thing is covered about the character, unless I'm missing something important? Kazama16 (talk) 20:26, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
- Congrats with making the article :) Tintor2 (talk) 21:32, 13 November 2025 (UTC)

Goro (Mortal Kombat)
[edit]I've been sitting on my Goro draft for a while. I intend to try and bring it into the mainspace in the near future. What do you think? I know there's a lot of quotes, but I'll have to see about trying to reduce some of that. Also, do you have any good sources that's not cited in the draft? MoonJet (talk) 04:20, 19 November 2025 (UTC)
- No worries. I'll help whenever I find useful material. For now cleaning up is more important. Don't rely too much on valnet sources and I would suggest to remove them though it's up to you. Some sources like Shacknews and UGO that provide decent coverage of the character can be expanded. I haven't properly checked academic sources yet so can't say much about it. Kazama16 (talk) 06:37, 19 November 2025 (UTC)
- Nice job on the clean-up. I still might have a couple more sources to add, then maybe I'll bring it into the mainspace. Would you say it's pretty much ready? MoonJet (talk) 07:15, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
- To be honest, in the draft, I only found this GameSpot source to be significant. [32] Others are decent and really not that much significant in comparison (not counting Valnet sources), but I think the character has a chance to pass notability. I'll look forward to what sources you add. Kazama16 (talk) 07:46, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
