Vanamonde93 (talk) 20:36, 2 August 2025 (UTC)Maybe an area of interest?
[edit]Hey Hurricane Wind and Fire! I notice you edit a lot in the topic of wildfires and hurricanes. I'm currently working on a new article topic that you might be interested in: Draft:Influence of severe weather on American politics. The article focuses a lot on how politics get affected or influenced by severe weather. For example, how Hurricane Helene last year influenced the outcome of the 2024 United States presidential election, as well as how the U.S. Congress investigated (twice actually) FEMA's response to the effects of Hurricane Helene.
Wildfires can also influence the outcome of elections, such as the 2023 Hawaii wildfires influencing the outcome of various elections in Hawaii.
I do not know if this topic is of any interest to you, but since you edit regarding severe weather, I wanted to let you know about it. If you are interested, feel free to edit and add stuff to the draft article, and if you have any questions, you are always welcome to message me! If you are not interested, just ignore this message. Have a wonderful day! The Weather Event Writer (Talk Page) 22:23, 2 August 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for the message. I try not to edit contentious or discretionary topics on Wikipedia, but this idea sounds interesting. If I do help on this topic, my edits won't be too major, and they would probably just be to wildfire topics. Thanks for the invitation, I'll keep this project in mind. Some projects
[edit]Hello, Hurricane Wind and Fire! I really appreciate your edits. I have some wildfire-related projects on my sandbox. The list of articles tagged on the project is limited. So, you can add articles related to wildfires to the list that may need to be created or needs serious improvement. And I will try to improve or create those articles as well as I can. You can also add different categories on my sandbox for articles that, let's say, need a seasonal background or something. CostalCal (talk) 00:59, 4 August 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know! I have seen some wildfire articles that need improvement (especially some wildfire articles that are started before they present any WP:Notability), and there are some others that are notable enough for an article I'll be working on. Again, thanks for letting me know, this is a really good idea. Hurricane Wind and Fire (talk) 01:05, 4 August 2025 (UTC)

Almeda Drive Fire
[edit]Hi!
I'm writing an article on the Almeda Drive Fire that occurred in 2020 in Oregon at User:Wildfireupdateman/Almeda Drive Fire. Would you be interested in working together? (I'm kinda busy right now with college applications and don't know if I can finish it by myself). WFUM🔥🌪️ (talk) 21:18, 11 August 2025 (UTC)
- Sure! I'm a little busy too, right now, so I won't have a lot of time on weekdays. I'd like to work on it with you, just don't expect much activity from me on weekdays. Thanks for letting me know. Hurricane Wind and Fire (talk) 22:05, 11 August 2025 (UTC)
A Helpful Guide For You!
[edit]Sometimes, it's hard for me to find a way to create a wildfire-related page. So, I sometimes need something to guide me through. Although, I think it's only right to share my WP:Guide with multiple different users. So, here you go---User:CostalCal/Guide! I hope you read this next time you create or edit a wildfire-related page. CostalCal (talk) 18:25, 16 August 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks, @CostalCal. You inspired me to write this. Hurricane Wind and Fire (talk) 04:55, 17 August 2025 (UTC)

A wildfire barnstar for you!

You deserve this!!! You have done so much work on wildfires! You make the best quality wildfire-related articles. Even better than me! Especially, thank you for your work on Nevada-related fire articles. When I joined Wikipedia. There was almost nothing on the Nevada wildfires. CostalCal (talk) 04:51, 10 July 2025 (UTC) |
Hurricane Earl (2022) to do list
[edit]Hey there HWaF, I'm not sure if you're still interested, but Earl's article still needs work, and here are a few things that could be done pretty easily.
- Meteorological history should be expanded and split into at least two paragraphs. It's never good to have a huge block of text. Also, some of the links need to be fixed. When possible, you should cite the tropical cyclone report, or TCR. Between the TCR and tropical weather outlooks, you can easily have an entire paragraph about Earl's origins, from leaving Africa to becoming a tropical depression.
- If you do use the TCR, you can cite it on Wikipedia as <ref name="tcr"/>, which saves time from having to type out every reference.
- Speaking of references, do you know how to cite sources? That's a little tricky if you've never done it, but super understandable once you see what the coding does.
- Add the tropical cyclone watches/warnings for Bermuda from the TCR
That's just a start, but it's the first things I would do in the article. Hope you're doing well, and lemme know if you have any questions. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 18:31, 5 September 2025 (UTC)
- Sorry, I lost track and was working on some wildfire articles over the summer (namely this and this). I'm still interested, but my schedule is going to be fairly busy until about September 22, freeing up a lot more after that. I know how to cite without using the citation generators and how to use the ref name tags. Thanks, hope you're doing well too. Hurricane Wind and Fire (talk) 21:17, 5 September 2025 (UTC)
DYK for Little Valley Fire
[edit]On 6 September 2025, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Little Valley Fire, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Little Valley Fire prompted the evacuation of 101 horses and one parrot? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Little Valley Fire. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Little Valley Fire), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed.
