Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Madison Davenport, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Materialscientist (talk) 12:35, 26 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

It was added with a citation needed tag, it's valid. GMPRT (talk) 12:36, 26 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

A lengthy welcome

[edit]

Hi GMPRT. Welcome to Wikipedia. I've added a welcome message to the top of this page that gives a great deal of information about Wikipedia. I hope you find it useful.

Additionally, I hope you don't mind if I share some of my thoughts on starting out as a new editor on Wikipedia: If I could get editors in your situation to follow just one piece of advice, it would be this: Learn Wikipedia by working only on non-contentious topics until you have a feel for the normal editing process and the policies that usually come up when editing casually. You'll find editing to be fun, easy, and rewarding. The rare disputes are resolved quickly and easily in collaboration.

Working on biographical information about living persons is far more difficult. Wikipedia's Biographies of living persons policy requires strict adherence to multiple content policies, and applies to all information about living persons including talk pages.

If you have a relationship with the topics you want to edit, then you will need to review Wikipedia's Conflict of interest policy, which may require you to disclose your relationship and restrict your editing depending upon how you are affiliated with the subject matter. Regardless, editing in a manner that promotes an entity or viewpoint over others can appear to be detrimental to the purpose of Wikipedia and the neutrality required in articles.

Some topic areas within Wikipedia have special editing restrictions that apply to all editors. It's best to avoid these topics until you are extremely familiar with all relevant policies and guidelines.

If you work from reliable, independent sources, you shouldn't go far wrong. WP:RSP and WP:RSN are helpful in determining if a source is reliable.

If you find yourself in a disagreement with another editor, it's best to discuss the matter on the relevant talk page.

I hope you find some useful information in all this, and welcome again. --Hipal (talk) 18:07, 27 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked as a sockpuppet

[edit]
Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts as a sockpuppet of User:SNdeC per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/SNdeC. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you believe that there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  asilvering (talk) 15:45, 11 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

On the SPI, you asked another editor, I don't even know you, don't you have better things to do than to follow people around and checking what they do and who edit alongside with anyone? Well... don't you have something better to do than continually making new sockpuppet accounts? I'd be happy to help you get through the unblocks process and go back to editing in good standing. But you need to request unblock to do that, and you can't keep making new accounts to try to edit around your blocks. -- asilvering (talk) 15:47, 11 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not making any sockpuppet account! My editing have no issue either. I appreciate the attention, but I'm not making any new accounts, so it's a false issue. GMPRT (talk) 16:07, 11 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
If you believe the block was made in error, you can request review using Wikipedia:Unblock wizard. -- asilvering (talk) 16:50, 11 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
