Jedeurska trädgården moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Jedeurska trädgården. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and Higab.se (real estate company) does not help establish this garden's notability. FWIW, I searched in DN, SvD, AB, and PressReader - was not able to find any mentions of this garden.. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

HSwMS Dristigheten (1785) moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to HSwMS Dristigheten (1785). Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources and In-text citations are needed per WP:CITE to show how reliable, third-party WP:INDEPENDENT published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy WP:RELIABLE are used to provide evidence for your claims. These will then help create formatted references per WP:REFSTART.. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

About notability and references for 300+ year old ships
[edit]
I created a number of articles about centuries old Swedish ships of the line, mostly by 1:1 translation from the Swedish Wikipedia. Some were accepted, others were moved to draft-space due to insufficient referencing. I fixed some of the articles in draft-space and submitted for approval. Some were rejected due to lack of widespread coverage.
Let's talk about that widespread coverage. The conditions for referencing a 300-year-old ship are a lot less favorable than those for a modern one. The preferred way to reference things on Wikipedia is by reliable and accessible online sources.
- I would like to remind that there was a lot less internet 300 years ago.
- The same goes for any news and media outlet. 300 years ago, there were a lot fewer of those.
- Same goes for radio, tv, newspapers, magazines, books or any other information source.
Most notable vessels that are centuries old will not have widespread online coverage. Let's take Göta Lejon, a ship from 1745/46 as an example. The fact that multiple museums, as well as Royal Swedish Society of Naval Sciences has information on it, proves sufficient notability.
There are multiple images available, despite the fact that cameras were not yet invented. That also indicated notability. Images available on the talk page:

- lol, I hear you, it’s an incredible pain in the arse. Officially, sources don’t actually need to be accessible online, they just need to be able to be referenced accurately, but of course tracking them down offline is hard in the first place. That they need to be secondary as opposed to primary sources makes it even harder. Ships, weirdly, are actually in a better position here than a lot of old things, because they often had people writing about their travels on them / reporting to other govt or company officials about the outcomes of their various journeys and missions. I’ve tracked down a lot of Japan connected ships that way, and it’s surprising what gets thrown up. On the other hand, try finding information on say Olympic athletes of the 40s and 50s, or minor TV shows and musicians of the 60s… nigh on impossible 😆 It doesn’t help that other language wiki projects have MUCH laxer citation standard than the English one (especially the Japanese one, to my constant annoyance, since that’s where I’m usually chasing my references).
- As for your specific examples though - if those bodies DO have information on the ships, that’s definitely notable, and able to be referenced despite being offline - the trouble is getting your hands on those physical offline sources in the first place. Once you have them though… Absurdum4242 (talk) 09:37, 19 September 2025 (UTC)

Absurdum4242 (talk) 13:08, 19 September 2025 (UTC)- Was glad to be able to accept the article this time after all your extra work tracking down sources. While I was checking through them, I came across a reference to this book, which might help you with the other articles in this series (and maybe give us a little more on this shop too) - https://antikvariat.net/en/cla39370-arsbok-marinmusei-vanner-2012-antikvariat-classica. Can’t find it online, but physical copy is for sale, so…
- Anyway, good luck with everything, keep up the good work 👍 Absurdum4242 (talk) 13:13, 19 September 2025 (UTC)
