Bach's cantata was performed 300 years ago, by occasion. - With a chorale #6. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:37, 4 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Today's main page has again memories of three people who died, for two just the name and for the third an image (great!) coupled with a little bit from her life which seems too little for my taste. What do you think? - A friend of mine sang in Verdi's Requiem at Trinity Church, - you can watch the lifestream (Verdi about 30 minutes into it). --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:48, 5 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Recommended reading today: Christfried Schmidt, a story about patience. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:14, 8 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Ich bin ein guter Hirt, BWV 85 seems to have an interesting chorale ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:00, 11 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

check my talk today for two pics of Margot Friedländer --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:43, 12 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

musings on 15 May --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:23, 15 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the updates! Currently in Japan on vacation so not replying as frequently as I can but looking forward to catching up! DanCherek (talk) 21:44, 15 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
enjoy your vacation! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:39, 15 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
birthday of Erik Satie - can we get his article to GA for his centenary of death? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:53, 17 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
A first: two stories about two people who worked together and died the same day - any chance for a lilypond for BWV 128 for 29 May? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:18, 27 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
reasons to look at Bach (and listen): it's a recent GA (not by me), he assumed the position of Thomaskantor OTD in 1723, he's up for PR, and several of his cantatas for GA, and his Easter Oratorio for FAC --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:10, 30 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I can take a look at 128 when I have some time! DanCherek (talk) 03:56, 17 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Good to see you still around, Dan! Hope all is well with you and yours . Eddie891 Talk Work 09:30, 17 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Eddie! That means a lot. Everything is going well, enjoying a new job and city since last summer, though it has meant that I don't have as much time for editing compared to when I was in grad school (probably won't have anything like that again until it's time to retire in a few decades... ). But I'm always happy to be around and do a little editing and talk with wikifriends. Hope you are well, and happy birthday! DanCherek (talk) 04:50, 18 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Dan! I've been quite well, spent the last six months studying in the UK and am due to return to the States in a few days. It has been fantastic while it lasted, though.
I'm very glad to hear that you are keeping well, it's great when someone having less time on-wiki is for a good reason, not a bad one. Best, Eddie891 Talk Work 08:22, 18 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

... and today look at the autograph of Beethoven's last piano sonata and listen to a pianist who wanted to serve the compositions most of all - the defiant cantata found someone for the lilypond --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:03, 19 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I'll hear today's topic today, - you can listen before I do because it was streamed yesterday --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:42, 22 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
