Did I ❌ decline or 🛑 reject your draft?
See Everything you need to know.

When an Articles for Creation reviewer declines or rejects a draft, there will be a pink box at the top of the draft explaining why. This will also have links to relevant policies and guidelines. Please read these before asking about your draft.

If I declined your draft, you can work on improving your draft, taking note of the policies, guidelines, and reviewer comments. If you need more detailed advice, you can ask at the AfC help desk, Teahouse, or this talk page. In general, I do not review the same draft more than once.

If I rejected your draft, it's because I don't think it meets the minimum requirements for inclusion as an encyclopaedia article. You can ask me to reconsider a rejection, but you should be ready to list the three – and no more than three – best sources for demonstrating the notability of your subject.

General advice: Read good articles. One of the best ways to learn how to write good Wikipedia articles is to learn by example and read good articles which have been checked against our core content standards. This link explains the process and includes lists of good articles sorted by topic.

Guide to temporary accounts

[edit]

Hello, ClaudineChionh. This message is being sent to remind you of significant upcoming changes regarding logged-out editing.

Starting 4 November, logged-out editors will no longer have their IP address publicly displayed. Instead, they will have a temporary account (TA) associated with their edits. Users with some extended rights like administrators and CheckUsers, as well as users with the temporary account IP viewer (TAIV) user right will still be able to reveal temporary users' IP addresses and all contributions made by temporary accounts from a specific IP address or range.

How do temporary accounts work?

Editing from a temporary account
  • When a logged-out user completes an edit or a logged action for the first time, a cookie will be set in this user's browser and a temporary account tied with this cookie will be automatically created for them. This account's name will follow the pattern: ~2025-12345-67 (a tilde, year of creation, a number split into units of 5).
  • All subsequent actions by the temporary account user will be attributed to this username. The cookie will expire 90 days after its creation. As long as it exists, all edits made from this device will be attributed to this temporary account. It will be the same account even if the IP address changes, unless the user clears their cookies or uses a different device or web browser.
  • A record of the IP address used at the time of each edit will be stored for 90 days after the edit. Users with the temporary account IP viewer (TAIV) user right will be able to see the underlying IP addresses.
  • As a measure against vandalism, there are two limitations on the creation of temporary accounts:
    • There has to be a minimum of 10 minutes between subsequent temporary account creations from the same IP (or /64 range in case of IPv6).
    • There can be a maximum of 6 temporary accounts created from an IP (or /64 range) within a period of 24 hours.

How to enable IP Reveal

Impact for administrators

  • It will be possible to block many abusers by just blocking their temporary accounts. A blocked person won't be able to create new temporary accounts quickly if the admin selects the autoblock option.
  • It will still be possible to block an IP address or IP range.
  • Temporary accounts will not be retroactively applied to contributions made before the deployment. On Special:Contributions, you will be able to see existing IP user contributions, but not new contributions made by temporary accounts on that IP address. Instead, you should use Special:IPContributions for this (see a video about IPContributions in a gallery below).

Rules about IP information disclosure

  • Publicizing an IP address gained through TAIV access is generally not allowed (e.g. ~2025-12345-67 previously edited as 192.0.2.1 or ~2025-12345-67's IP address is 192.0.2.1).
  • Publicly linking a TA to another TA is allowed if "reasonably believed to be necessary". (e.g. ~2025-12345-67 and ~2025-12345-68 are likely the same person, so I am counting their reverts together toward 3RR, but not Hey ~2025-12345-68, you did some good editing as ~2025-12345-67)
  • See Wikipedia:Temporary account IP viewer § What can and can't be said for more detailed guidelines.

Useful tools for patrollers

  • It is possible to view if a user has opted-in to view temporary account IPs via the User Info card, available in Preferences → Appearance → Advanced options → Tick Enable the user info card
    • This feature also makes it possible for anyone to see the approximate count of temporary accounts active on the same IP address range.
  • Special:IPContributions allows viewing all edits and temporary accounts connected to a specific IP address or IP range.
  • Similarly, Special:GlobalContributions supports global search for a given temporary account's activity.
  • The auto-reveal feature (see video below) allows users with the right permissions to automatically reveal all IP addresses for a limited time window.

ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:17, 18 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Z-SWAN (05:33, 22 November 2025)

[edit]

Good morning, I am new to here, can I know that, what is really mean by wikipedia and, what kind of things are I have to do in this social media, to be active. I hope you will help me for this!. Thank you!. --Z-SWAN (talk) 05:33, 22 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and welcome! Wikipedia is not social media; it is an encyclopaedia. You might find the Overview of Wikipedia useful, along with how you can contribute content. ClaudineChionh (she/her · talk · email · global) 07:29, 22 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

How do you pronounce your last name?

[edit]

In my head I have pronounced it as chi-yon but I think I might be wrong. GarethBaloney (talk) 10:35, 22 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! It's meant to end in ng but the Chinese name got transcribed wrong many generations ago (as family legend has it). I'm not bothered when people pronounce it as you do IRL because it takes too long to explain. Thanks for asking! ClaudineChionh (she/her · talk · email · global) 01:10, 23 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Articles for Creation backlog drive

[edit]

Hello ClaudineChionh:

WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in December!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than half a month of outstanding reviews from the current 2+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 December 2025 through 31 December 2025.

You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.

Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 3000 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 06:07, 23 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Christian61088 (01:46, 27 November 2025)

[edit]

Can you help me submit this correctly? I'm planning to submit a new version now after the first version was declined. --Christian61088 (talk) 01:46, 27 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Christian61088, apologies for not responding earlier. I would prefer not to assist with content relating to current US politics, for a multitude of reasons. I see you have resubmitted your draft autobiography and have been given plenty of advice about Wikipedia's guidelines. If you have further questions or need more clarification, I suggest asking at the Articles for creation Help desk or the Teahouse. Request for Article Update to Modernize SILVIA Entry

[edit]

Hello, I would like to propose an update to the SILVIA article. I have a conflict of interest because I am affiliated with Cognitive Code, so I am not editing the page directly. Instead, I’m providing a fully neutral, citation-free draft for community review.

--Brendan7211966 (talk) 22:25, 6 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Brendan7211966, I don't know why you have contacted me in particular as I don't recall having anything to do with this article. In any case, your suggested change at Talk:SILVIA was not constructed as a proper edit request, and it would not have been accepted anyway because it was not supported by any reliable secondary sources and was indistinguishable from AI-generated marketing copy.
You need to make a proper edit request following these steps:
  1. Thoroughly read the guidelines and instructions at Simple conflict of interest edit request.
  2. Rewrite your proposed changes in your own words, without using generative AI. Every claim must be supported by an independent, secondary, reliable source, with at least one inline citation for every sentence or paragraph. You may prepare this draft in your own userspace, or in a text file off-wiki.
  3. Read the edit request instructions again, and read the instructions for the {{Edit COI}} template.
  4. Break up your draft into discrete sections or paragraphs and submit one edit request at a time for each of these, using the {{Edit COI}} template. I suggest that you wait until your first request is fulfilled before adding further requests, so that you can take on any feedback that you might get for your first request.
If you follow this procedure, your edit requests will be added to the request backlog, where they will be seen by volunteers who might want to assist you. ClaudineChionh (she/her · talk · email · global) 23:58, 6 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Why My draft is rejected

[edit]

Hi , I have added cited sources but still my draft rejected. Can i know exact reason and how i fix that. Sarveshh2 (talk) 15:31, 10 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Sarveshh2: Have you read Referencing for beginners and Citing sources as previously advised? If you did read those guidelines, is there anything in them that you do not understand? You should also look at the Manual of Style, and read some of the Good Articles listed at Wikipedia:Good articles/Philosophy and religion#Religion so you can see what a Wikipedia entry is supposed to look like.
