Thank you for the feedback! Could I just ask you a couple of questions about better ways to verify, other than the primary sources? - I'm quite new here, sorry.
The early beginnings of SmallAnt's career, and his personal life, is mostly mentioned by SmallAnt himself talking about it - on stream, as well as online. The part talking about how he streamed LittleBigPlanet - maybe I should verify that with a statistics website source? I could maybe verify that he started by joining a Super Mario Odyssey speedrunning tournament by linking to the tournament itself, but I don't know if that counts. But the part about SmallAnt's personal life - I can't really think of any way to verify that besides primary sources, because he's the one saying the information. Does that mean it's not notable? How would I source these pieces of information?
Thank you, and sorry for my inexperience. (Also, does this mean the submission has been rejected?) ArjunQM (talk) 16:03, 26 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The purpose of Wikipedia is to summarise what reliable, secondary sources say about a topic. I would remove what can only be cited by primary sources, as it is contrary to the purpose of wikipedia.
If there aren’t enough secondary sources, SmallAnt may not be wiki-notable enough for an article.
The article has been declined, which means you are welcome to continue working on it and submit it again (on wikipedia we use “rejected” to mean there’s no hope and you can’t resubmit). -- NotCharizard 🗨 02:40, 27 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, thanks for the clarification! I'll remove the bits supported by primary sources. I do think SmallAnt is definitely wiki-notable as I have cited other independent secondary sources too. Thanks for your reply - I will continue working on the article and resubmit in the future. ArjunQM (talk) 09:17, 27 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Frost. I noticed that you made a change to an article, SmallAnt, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Frost 13:10, 21 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Frost. Here are my reasons for keeping SmallAnt's surname as 'Minecraft'. I think that WP:BLPSELFPUB applies here - for biographical detail as basic as a name I think that it is perfectly reasonable to use primary sources such as the tweet that I cited. The interview provides some more evidence of the name - it is not difficult or extraordinary to get personal names in an interview, and SmallAnt also confirmed the name that was in the interview in this tweet https://x.com/SmallAnt/status/1738350739846840321. I didn't link it because I couldn't get it to work with the Wayback Machine. Personally, I see no reason to go against the name which SmallAnt stated as his. ArjunQM (talk) 13:53, 21 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The tweet does not confirm his real name and it seems to be some kind of joke. You might need something more solid. Frost 14:05, 21 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I think that whether it's a joke or not is more down to personal analysis. He has mentioned it on stream several times - would a clip or a few clips of SmallAnt saying it on stream be satisfactory? ArjunQM (talk) 14:07, 21 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Possibly but having Minecraft for a last name is an exceptional claim so it might not be acceptable. However, I'll leave it to the regulars of the article, since you've started a discussion there. Frost 15:55, 21 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, sounds good. ArjunQM (talk) 17:18, 21 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
