CS1 errors and vandalism

[edit]

Hi Antured, thanks for helping out with CS1 errors. Unfortunately, a significant number of these errors are caused by vandalism (like this one). You might want to check the page history before you edit so you can revert the vandalism rather than covering it up. Thanks! Jay8g [VTE] 04:37, 24 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

My mistake on Tornadoes article

[edit]

Hello - Thanks for catching my error on List of United States tornadoes from January to February 2023 - I am trying to work on standardizing how such lists sort in various categories and I inadvertently pasted in something I had not intended to paste. Kenneth Bøgh Andersen's page - I did not mean to publish it yet

[edit]

It was "noinclude" because I was not even ready to publish the page. I thought I was on my Sandbox. Also, I do not understand why the Wikidata infobox isn't filling with information, when there is definite Wikidata on the person. You can just check the Danish page for the author, it works fine there. Luka1184 (talk) 00:32, 8 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Pascal Brier (March 14)

[edit]
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by WeirdNAnnoyed was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
The sources provided in this article all appear to be connected to the subject. We need *independent*, reliable sources that discuss the subject in a significant way (and the sources should be secondary if possible).
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

John Morgan, 6th Baron Tredegar

[edit]

Thanks for you recent edit to the page regarding James Lees-Milne’s visit to Tredegar in 1949. Saves me buying the book myself! And what a funny account… ‘pompous and puffed up with self importance’. Brilliant! Mac Edmunds (talk) 08:15, 25 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by WikiAviator was:
This submission does not appear to be written in the formal tone expected of an encyclopedia article. Entries should be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources. Please rewrite your submission in a more encyclopedic format. Please make sure to avoid peacock terms that promote the subject.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Was it a mistake that you addressed yourself with my username while warning this IP? Just wondering. JeffSpaceman (talk) 19:00, 1 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't. The warning has my name on it. – [ɑƞʈuɼeđ] [] [] 19:07, 1 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
In this diff, your warning has my username. I wasn't trying to be rude about this, I was just confused when I saw it. Doesn't matter now, given that a bot fixed it to put your name on it, I was just curious when I saw it. JeffSpaceman (talk) 19:46, 1 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
What I see is my warning with my username on it, and then you creating your warning. – [ɑƞʈuɼeđ] [] [] 20:14, 1 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

please be more careful

At this edit you changed |deadlink=yes (a parameter not supported by cs1|2 templates) to |url-status=deades (a parameter value not supported by cs1|2 templates). This edit is at least the third that I have encountered like this, all of them yours. Two others are Special:Diff/1283961504 and Special:Diff/1284007997.

Whack!

You've been whacked with a wet trout.

Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know that you did something silly.

Edit Request on Beyonce

[edit]

Hey, can you please do this edit for me? I reached out to another editor and left a request on the singer's talk page and incorrect info is still there.

Please change "In June 2007, Beyoncé and Jay-Z became engaged to "In December 2007, Beyoncé and Jay-Z became engaged." PLEASE don't forget to remove the current ref containing a false report that they got engaged in June 2007 since Beyonce herself said Jay didn't propose until six months after those reports, on December 4, 2007, his 38th birthday.

See her quote confirming his birthday proposal here:

https://people.com/celebrity/beyoncs-embarrassed-to-play-songs-from-her-new-album-for-her-mom/

Thanks. 108.74.252.8 (talk) 03:19, 23 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

 Done! (see the difference) – [ɑƞʈuɼeđ] [] [] 19:26, 23 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Another edit on Beyoncé is needed. She and Jay-Z have said that they conceived Blue Ivy in Paris, not that she discovered she was pregnant there, as her article currently states.
Please change "In April 2011, during a photoshoot in Paris for her upcoming album cover, Beyoncé discovered she was unexpectedly pregnant" to "In April 2011, while in Paris doing a photoshoot for her upcoming album cover, Beyoncé became unexpectedly pregnant." 166.196.86.51 (talk) 17:19, 13 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Non-attributed translations

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you translated text from es:Durazno_sangrando to Durazno sangrando. While you are welcome to translate Wikipedia content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing requires that you provide attribution to the contributor(s) of the original article. When translating from a foreign-language Wikipedia article, this is supplied at a minimum in an edit summary on the page where you add translated content, identifying it as a translation and linking it to the source page. Sample wording for this is given here. If you forgot, or were not aware of this requirement, attribution must be given retroactively, for example:

NOTE: Content in the edit of 01:25, January 25, 2023 was translated from the existing French Wikipedia article at [[:fr:Exact name of French article]]; see its history for attribution.

Retroactive attribution may be added using a dummy edit; see Repairing insufficient attribution. It is good practice, especially if translation is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{translated page}} template on the talk page of the destination article. If you have added translated content previously which was not attributed at the time it was added, you must add attribution retrospectively, even if it was a long time ago. You can read more about author attribution and the reasons for it at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 10:19, 27 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Rambley was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of music-related topics). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Potentially notable but there's a lot here that's uncited or could use some copyediting (likely both).
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.
