Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Jane Ward (volleyball), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Carlsbad. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 19:53, 24 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, when you add people to the Deaths in 2025 page, or similar pages for previous years/months, please note that they should be in alphabetical order under each day, and only simple citations should be used. Thank you. Marbe166 (talk) 14:15, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Reminder, simple cites only. Marbe166 (talk) 13:24, 31 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
SIMPLE CITES ONLY! --Marbe166 (talk) 18:20, 31 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Third reminder. Next time you will be reported for disruptive editing. --Marbe166 (talk) 13:52, 2 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Not adhering to the rules of pages, despite multiple reminders, is disruptive. Marbe166 (talk) 14:38, 2 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Also, side note, Facebook is not a reliable source for deaths (Emma Alegre). --Marbe166 (talk) 13:55, 2 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Facebook could be a good source in some ways Adelberta (talk) 14:38, 2 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
See WP:UGC. Marbe166 (talk) 14:40, 2 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Marbe166:, do you think that rather than shouting at this new user, you could perhaps explain to them as to what "simple cites" actually are? You're not helping the situation by continuously losing your temper and threatening them, rather than trying to improve their edits. Also, Marbe166, when you blank reverted Emma Alegre, you also removed quite a few of the formatting changes I had made. Please revert these manually next time. And any subjects who are 90+ who we have no evidence of being alive for 10+ years should go in the Possibly Living People category, not in the Living one.

@Adelberta:, when you edit a normal article, there's a drop down menu for different reference types (web, news, book, journal) but on the Deaths in 2025 page, there's an additional icon. It's the one to the left of the "jigsaw icon". If you hover over it, it will say "reference". Just click on it, then all you need to do is add the website and the title of the page. Really easy! Simple cite should be used for the Deaths in 2025 page only though. On all other articles you should write a full reference out with as much information as you can provide. Hope this helps. Thanks --Jkaharper (talk) 14:56, 2 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much @Jkaharper for all the advice ❤️ Adelberta (talk) 17:46, 2 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

ITN recognition for Jim Herriot

On 30 April 2025, In the news was updated with an item that involved the article Jim Herriot, which you updated. If you know of another recently created or updated article suitable for inclusion in ITN, please suggest it on the candidates page. SpencerT•C 16:20, 30 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I have reverted your addition of an unsourced date of birth to Lola Pashalinski. In addition to Wikipedia's basic principle of citing sources (Wikipedia:Citing sources), a special need for citations applies with regard to elements of a biography of a living person (WP:BLPPRIVACY). Feel free to add a date of birth when it is accompanied by a citation to a reliable, published, non-primary source. Eddie Blick (talk) 00:03, 6 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Italicized credits in Deaths in 2025

[edit]

Hi. Can I just point out to you that, when you are creating italics for show credits, etc., the example below is correct?

' 'Doctor Who' '

Whereas the styling below is incorrect:

' 'Doctor Who' '

In summation, the format marks used to create an italicized title should appear outside the wikilink marks and not inside. Thanks. Ref (chew)(do) 15:17, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Adelberta - you are still doing it. Ref (chew)(do) 20:57, 29 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Can you explain it to me if you please, I don't know how to do it, thanks. Adelberta (talk) 21:22, 29 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You are doing it, but you are not putting the marks in the right place - always place them outside the marks and not inside, as above. Whether the link is piped or not, the marks always live outside the wikilink. Ref (chew)(do) 21:30, 29 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You added Ena Hartman today, and made the same mistakes again. Place those marks before and after the and marks - please. Ref (chew)(do) 19:00, 1 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Refer to this edit to see what I did to fix your work. Ref (chew)(do) 19:03, 1 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Zija Grapshi (June 13)

[edit]
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by SafariScribe was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

I have reverted your addition of an unsourced date of birth to Charles Bateman (actor). Eddie Blick (talk) 01:44, 22 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Forums can't be used for reliable sources. I've had a look around and there's nothing else we can use at the moment, so I've added him at Talk:Deaths in 2025#Deaths requiring reliable sources for inclusion in article. Thanks. Ref (chew)(do) 21:48, 23 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or edit other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages. Doing so won't stop the discussion from taking place. Hello, Adelberta,
Do not remove an AFD tag while the discussion is still ongoing. I see you did this THREE times! If I had seen this earlier, you would have been given a block from editing. Do not ever do this again. Liz Read! Talk! 22:37, 4 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Adelberta You just removed an AfD template at Daria Massey (diff) while a discussion was ongoing. As @Liz noted to you in August, this is disruptive behavior. Please do not do it again. Dclemens1971 (talk) 13:02, 18 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I am curious about the source of the date of birth that you added to Lorna Raver when you added the date of death. I see the SAG citation for the date of death, but I can't see the source of October 9, 1943. Maybe I am just overlooking something. Eddie Blick (talk) 00:27, 13 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

It appears that you have been canvassing—leaving messages on a biased choice of users' talk pages to notify them of an ongoing community decision, debate, or vote—in order to influence Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Daria Massey. While friendly notices are allowed, they should be limited and nonpartisan in distribution and should reflect a neutral point of view. Please do not post notices which are indiscriminately cross-posted, which espouse a certain point of view or side of a debate, or which are selectively sent only to those who are believed to hold the same opinion as you. Remember to respect Wikipedia's principle of consensus-building by allowing decisions to reflect the prevailing opinion among the community at large. Thank you. See canvassing message here: [1].
