Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Happy editing! Cheers, Devokewater 22:09, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:53, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by ToadetteEdit was:
Your draft shows signs of having been generated by a large language model, such as ChatGPT. Their outputs usually have multiple issues that prevent them from meeting our guidelines on writing articles. These include:
Please address these issues. The best way to do it is usually to read reliable sources and summarize them, instead of using a large language model. See our help page on large language models.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Citation needed template

[edit]

Hi AbeerT, I've noticed that you've used [''[[Wikipedia:Citation needed|citation needed]]''] instead of {{citation needed}} a few times and I wonder why you did it that way. Can you explain? Thanks Nobody (talk) 06:52, 18 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Dear @1AmNobody24, thank you for your message. Thank you for pointing this out. I actually have not noticed this. If there is a difference, could you explain this to me and I can try to change / universalise in the future? I have a few html-tags saved so I can use them. I just checked, and apparently I have both above-mentioned saved and use them - actually thinking they are the same. Thank you for your help/ explanation. AbeerT (talk) 09:18, 19 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The template {{Citation needed}} has a function where it places the article into Category:All articles with unsourced statements and Category:Articles with unsourced statements from June 2025 (example; past months are listed in Category:Articles with unsourced statements).
This makes it easier for others to find articles with unsourced statements. The way you have been adding the tag doesn't have that function. Nobody (talk) 09:28, 19 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much. I will take this into account from now on! AbeerT (talk) 08:44, 20 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Avgeekamfot was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of events). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Thank you @Avgeekamfot I already replied to it and mentioned the discussion I started on the Draft Articles Talk page. It would be great to get some input from experienced authors. Thank you. AbeerT (talk) 10:48, 9 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Dear @Avgeekamfot please ignore this - I just saw the comment on the Draft page (not easy to find). Thank you. I will review. AbeerT (talk) 11:00, 9 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Direct quotations

[edit]

Hi AbeerT, just a note to say please don't copyedit the text in direct quotations, as you did at Jason Jorjani. Thanks, Esowteric + Talk + Breadcrumbs 14:04, 12 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for pointing this out @Esowteric I indeed oversaw the direct quotations in this case. AbeerT (talk) 08:41, 13 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: International carpet festival (September 4)

[edit]
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by CNMall41 was:
This draft's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article. In summary, the draft needs multiple published sources that are:
Make sure you add references that meet all four of these criteria before resubmitting. Learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue. If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Four sources added since last declined. This is churnalism ("Mahmud noted..." and "AZERTAC reports..."). This contains a little more coverage but is not bylined so not sure if reliable or not. This is churnalism as it contains quotes from the first reference cited above. This contains a little more coverage but is also a routine announcement about the festival. This first started in 2024 so likely a case of WP:TOOSOON.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.
CNMall41 (talk) 04:19, 4 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Dear @CNMall41, thank you for having another look at the submission. To be quite honest, I have come to a point where I do not know how to further improve/ change the article. There are simply no more sources. Most sources are in local media, as I already stated. I even now added some natural language ones. At this stage I do not know what to do. Shall/ can I delete the draft? I still think it's relevant, but if there is no way to get it accepted, there is no sense in keeping it up here ... Thank you for your help.
