About me

I am a Wikipedian from the Canadian province of Nova Scotia. My primary focus here is anything to do with Atlantic Canada, in particular history, geography, and literature. When I get burnt out from generating content I also occasionally drift into maintenance areas, and you might see me all across the encyclopedia adding short descriptions and so forth. I am active on Wikidata, which I use as a starting point for figuring out which notable Nova Scotians have enough material for an article. If you're looking for inspiration, I maintain a list of my Wikidata entries on that user page.

I enjoy learning about the rest of the Commonwealth, particularly New Zealand and the island country of Niue. If you're interested in collaborating on Niue-related topics, please reach out.

Contacting me

I prefer to keep discussions related to Wikipedia on-wiki for transparency, whenever practical. If you need to reach out to me about a topic that you're not comfortable posting about on my talk page, you can email me here. Please be aware that I may respond to your email on-wiki if your query does not involve sensitive information.

I am happy to offer any help I can to new editors. Please reach out to me if there's anything I can do to make your editing experience easier.

Biases and views

The only conflict of interest I have at this time is concerning The Razorbacks, a 1980s rockabilly band with which I am loosely affiliated to one of its former members. Aside from that, every organization I am affiliated with is not anywhere near notable enough to have a Wikipedia article. I would consider myself to be politically neutral, although I have at various points in my life been involved with every major provincial political party in Nova Scotia, none of which I am a member of or maintain any affiliation to.

I believe that even notable figures should be allowed to have a certain degree of privacy, and as such I regularly remove poorly sourced information regarding dates of birth and names of family members from BLPs. I feel strongly that Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, Tiktok, MySpace, Tumblr, and the rest are not an appropriate source by any means to use for a living person's date of birth and family, whether they are the Prime Minister of Canada or a fruit vendor.
