The Philippine eagle (Pithecophaga jefferyi), also known as the monkey-eating eagle or great Philippine eagle, is a critically endangered species of eagle of the family Accipitridae which is endemic to forests in the Philippines.
The Philippine eagle is considered the largest of the extant eagles in the world in terms of length and wing surface area, with only Steller's sea eagle and the Harpy eagle being larger in terms of weight and bulk. It has been declared the national bird of the Philippines.
The Philippine tarsier (Carlito syrichta), known locally as mawumag in Cebuano and other Visayan languages, and magô in Waray, is a species of tarsier endemic to the Philippines. It is found in the southeastern part of the archipelago, particularly on the islands of Bohol, Samar and Leyte. It is a member of the approximately 45-million-year-old family Tarsiidae, whose name is derived from its elongated "tarsus" or ankle bone. Formerly a member of the genus Tarsius, it has since been listed as the only member of the genus Carlito, a new genus named after the conservationist Carlito Pizarras.
The Chocolate Hills are a geological formation in the Philippine province of Bohol. There is a minimum of 1,260 hills and possibly up to 1,776, spread over an area of more than 50 square kilometers (20 sq mi). They are covered in green grass that turns a chocolate-brown during the dry season, hence the name.

Haluhalo is a popular cold dessert in the Philippines made with crushed ice, evaporated milk or coconut milk, and various ingredients including side dishes such as ube jam (ube halaya), sweetened kidney beans or garbanzo beans, coconut strips, sago, gulaman (agar), pinipig, boiled taro or soft yams in cubes, flan, slices or portions of fruit preserves, and other root crop preserves. The dessert is topped with a scoop of ube ice cream. It is usually prepared in a tall clear glass and served with a long spoon. Haluhalo is considered to be the unofficial national dessert of the Philippines.
Haluhalo is more commonly spelled as "halo-halo", which literally means "mix-mix" in English, but the former is the official spelling in the Commission on the Filipino Language's dictionary. The word is an adjective meaning "mixed [together]" in Filipino. It is a reduplication of the Filipino verb halo, which means "to mix".
Philippine adobo (from Spanish: adobar: "marinade", "sauce" or "seasoning" / English: /əˈdoʊboʊ/, Tagalog pronunciation: [ɐdobo]) is a popular Filipino dish and cooking process in Philippine cuisine. In its base form, meat, seafood, or vegetables are first browned in oil, and then marinated and simmered in vinegar, salt and soy sauce, and garlic. It is often considered the unofficial national dish in the Philippines.
Mussaenda philippica (Aklan: Agboy) is a plant species in the family Rubiaceae that grows as a shrub or small tree. Native to the Philippines it is commonly grown elsewhere as an ornamental species.
Known varieties include: "Doña Luz" (pink), "Doña Alicia" (dark pink), "Queen Sirikit" (light pink), "Doña Aurora" (white), and "Doña Eva" (dark red).
