[edit]I think this article should be slightly slimmed down and merged into the Da Vinci Code film specifically here [1]. This article seems to be exactly what that section of the article is looking for. Yanksox 15:09, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
- Hi, I'm the original author of this section from the The Da Vinci Code (film) article. Someone transferred it from there and created a new article. I don't want to trim this down; I had a hard time finding the sources regarding this article. It is a really a hard work for me and it will go to waste if it will be slimmed down. I think that The Da Vinci Code (film) article is already beyond the recommended article size, so we can no longer merge it there. I propose that The Da Vinci Code (film)#Reactions_to_the_film should have a new article together with this one (The Da Vinci Code in the Philippines). Please feel free to comment on my proposal. --Jojit fb 06:15, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
I was actually shocked that it wasn't already an article. I'm fully behind that proposal. Yanksox 06:23, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
Agreed. This page has a lot of specific info, and the The Da Vinci Code (film) article is large enough already. Removing the merge proposal. -- DSGruss 18:33, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
Regarding the R-18 Rating
[edit]In the article it said that those resctricted were "over 18 years of age." I thought that explanation was wrong... shouldn't it be "restricted to those under 18 years of age" not over? I changed it, but feel free to reverse because I am not entirely sure. 141.117.95.150 18:50, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
- No, you were right. The other way would be strange :).67.177.48.86 (talk) 07:18, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
Controversy
[edit]Gotta love that THIS is the film that caused controversy in the good ol 'Pinas (my favorite country that I've ever visited). Considering that so many little Pinoy children sit around all day watching the most horrible, sadistic slasher films, this movie might actually be a step up. Grabe naman, pero gets ko na malakas ang hawak ng Katoliko sainyo. Di masama yan...67.177.48.86 (talk) 07:18, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

The Da Vinci Code in the Philippines → Reactions to The Da Vinci Code (film) in the Philippines – The title has a few issues. First, it is very ambiguous to what media the article refers to, the book or the film, and only after reading the article you understand it is for the film. The second issue is that this isn't a general article about the release of the film in the Philippines, but about reactions to it.
I'm open to alternative title proposals which address the above two issues. Gonnym (talk) 20:09, 26 September 2025 (UTC) — Relisting. Jeffrey34555 (talk) 17:58, 5 October 2025 (UTC)
- The parentheses are a bit distracting. What about Reactions to the Da Vinci Code film in the Philippines? Is it really necessary to make this distinction in the title of the article? — BarrelProof (talk) 22:38, 26 September 2025 (UTC)
- I agree with BarrelProof, the mid-title parenthetical is distracting. It's atypical outside of a few special use cases for geographical place articles. I'm also not sure we need to disambiguate here. Reactions to The Da Vinci Code in the Philippines seems fine. --MYCETEAE 🍄🟫—talk 00:45, 27 September 2025 (UTC)
