First sentence Rescue comprises responsive operations that usually involve the saving of life, or the urgent treatment of injuries after an accident or a dangerous situation. reasonably accurately describes the primary topic. The other (historical and psychological) meanings should be linked from the disambiguation page and removed from the lead as undue. The rest of the article should summarise the various aspects of rescue as described in the lead sentence. · · · Peter Southwood(talk): 04:49, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Pbsouthwood: Learned about this split discussion from WikiProject Firefighting. I agree with removing these more trivial meanings from the article's lede and moving them to the disambiguation page, especially since the disambiguation page itself defines this page as referring "to operations that usually involve the saving of life, or prevention of additional injury." I know its been a while since you made this proposal, but would you still be willing to preform the split? Cheers! Johnson52414:51, 2 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Johnson524 I will try to get around to it sometime soon, but if anyone else wants to do it or make a start. this discussion so far is an indication that it should be fine to do so. I would not necessarily claim the other meanings to be trivial, but I think this is clearly the primary topic. Cheers, · · · Peter Southwood(talk): 08:04, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
