- I’m a little confused by this article as this term only seems to be used in a historical context and I’m a little skeptical about the sources used. I will elaborate further on the talk page. IntentionallyDense (Contribs) 02:40, 22 August 2025 (UTC)

Some questions
[edit]Hey, Earth605 I just want to preface this by saying that I don't mean to devalue the work you've done here but I just think there is some confusion regarding terminology here. This article says that NA is a medium vessel vascuitis but then cites the medlineplus article on Necrotizing vasculitis which encompasses vasculitis of all vessel sizes. The sources you use also seem to be describing different condition. This article [1] seems to be describing systemic vasculitis, [2] this article seems to just classify it as medium vessel vasculitis. The most recent classification [3] for vasculitis uses this term to describe some of the conditions (polyarteritis nodosa, antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis) but not all small and medium vessel vasculitides. This kind of scattered definitions isn't uncommon for rarer disorders such as vasculitis. I think this may be appropriate to merge to Systemic vasculitis but I wanted to get others input first. - Hmm... Maybe? I really don't know. I think you are right though. I was seeing WP:RA and this caught my eye, and I started from there. But I don't really know. @IntentionallyDense: Earth605 (talk) 14:47, 22 August 2025 (UTC)
- The Vasculitides are a confusing but extremely interesting group of disorders, they are kind of a special interest of mine. I have a sandbox with the classification for them here if you want to take a look. We have pages for almost all of the vasculitides except for Cutaneous arteritis and Primary central nervous system vasculitis. If you wanted to create an article on one of those two I would be happy to help. Alternatively our pages for Cogan syndrome Urticarial vasculitis and Retinal vasculitis need some work as well and I could get you started with some sources on those if you wish. IntentionallyDense (Contribs) 16:22, 22 August 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah, that would be cool, and I would be particullarly interested collabing with Cutaneous arteritis. Maybe we work on a draft? Well, we'l see that later. Now, I have a more pressing issue. Do we merge the article or what do we do with it? Earth605 (talk) 17:03, 22 August 2025 (UTC)
- Also, can I sometimes edit in your sandbox? Earth605 (talk) 17:04, 22 August 2025 (UTC)
- yeah we can make a draft to work on it together, we can start it on one of my pages cause i have all the templates saved so i can easily set up the article. You can edit my sandbox just please don’t remove anything i already put in the article. I’ll make the draft tonight (like in an hour or so). I can deal with merging the page if you wish. - I was thinking about the merging today, and I have no idea if we merge or we don't. Systemic vasculitis I guess means "Systemic vessel inflammation" and Necrotizing arteritis means "Necrosis on inflammated arteries" or something like that? I think at the end we shouldn't merge the articles because if you look at the latin it's pretty different. One includes all "Systemic vessel inflammations" and the other "Necrosis-causing inflammation on arteries". So, no merge I guess. Earth605 (talk) 17:48, 23 August 2025 (UTC)
- Systemic vasculitis is necrotizing, the key difference between these two terms is that vasculitis encompasses all vessel sizes, while arthritis means inflammation of the arteries. IntentionallyDense (Contribs) 19:29, 23 August 2025 (UTC)
- So, no merge then. Earth605 (talk) 14:48, 24 August 2025 (UTC)
- It fits reasons 1 and 2 for Wikipedia:Merging#Reasons for merging so I think it should be merged but I can start a discussion about it so that others can weigh in. IntentionallyDense (Contribs) 18:54, 24 August 2025 (UTC)
- I don't agree, as it does not duplicate other articles as Systemic vasculitis and others. It is not WP:REDUNDANT with any, really.
- I am willing to start a discussion. If you can deal with that, cuz I'm pretty busy now, that would be awesome. Earth605 (talk) 08:36, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
