Islamic State insurgency in the North Caucasus

[edit]

Is this part of the IS' insurgency in the North Caucasus? I contend it is not since it wasn't committed by the Kavkaz group (Islamic State – Caucasus Province) and wasn't in the North Caucasus, and none of the perpetrators were from the North Caucasus. To me, it is too seperated from the North Caucasus insurgency that it shouldn't be considered a part of it. Garmin21 (talk) 06:39, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ukraine involvement

[edit]

We should probably add ukraine as a perpetrator (russian claimed) to give more review into the issue BarakHussan (talk) 23:53, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No. The Russian claim is not credible. We already give it too much weight in the article. VQuakr (talk) 23:55, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Motive

[edit]

The “motive” section in the infobox should be expanded upon. Sure it was “Islamic Extremism” but that’s but all. There’s a reason they attacked Russia. It was clearly in retaliation for Russian involvement in the Syrian Civil War and the Second Chechen War. They didn’t just attack Russia for no reason. That’s like if the motivation for 9/11 was labeled as “Islamic extremism” and nothing else. They chose to attack Russia for a specific reason and it should be added.
