The Punggol Group Representation Constituency is a four-member Group Representation Constituency (GRC) in the north-eastern region of Singapore. It consists of Punggol West SMC, as well as the Punggol Coast and Punggol Shore wards of the Pasir Ris–Punggol GRC.
History
[edit]Before the 2025 general election, Punggol GRC was formed by merging the entirety of Punggol West SMC with the Punggol Coast and Punggol Shore wards of the Pasir Ris–Punggol GRC. This was done ostensibly due to population growth in Punggol, and to better reflect the geographical location of the town.[1][2]
During the 2025 general election, it was announced that Gan Kim Yong would remain at Chua Chu Kang GRC but on Nomination Day, he was nominated to head the Punggol GRC team of the People's Action Party (PAP) against that of the Workers' Party (WP) led by Harpreet Singh Nehal.[3] The PAP proceeded to win with 55% of the vote.
Constituency profile
[edit]For the 2025 general election, Punggol GRC had a relatively high proportion of young voters, with over half of its more than 120,000 voters estimated to be aged between 21 and 45.[4]
