Zain Ijaz[1] (born 8 May 1991) is a Pakistani former youth cricketer who represented Sahiwal at district, regional, and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) youth tournaments between 2006 and 2010.

Early life and family

Ijaz was born in Sahiwal, Punjab. His father, Ijaz Ahmed, played first-class and List A cricket for Lahore. His maternal grandfather, Ashraf Ali, represented Pakistan in Test and One Day International (ODI) cricket as a wicketkeeper-batsman. Another maternal grandfather, Saadat Ali, also played ODIs for Pakistan and later scored over 10,000 runs in first-class cricket.

Cricket career

Ijaz began playing cricket at Chand Bagh School and later represented his school and college in inter-school competitions. He went on to play in PCB- organized youth tournaments.

District cricket

He represented Sahiwal District[2] in youth tournaments, facing teams from Vehari, Okara, Khanewal, and Bahawalpur.  

Regional cricket

Playing for Multan Region, Ijaz competed against some of Punjab’s youth teams.
