Reshu Nath is an Indian screenwriter and filmmaker known for her work across film and streaming in the Hindi entertainment industry,[1] best known as the writer (story, screenplay and dialogue) of the 2025 courtroom drama feature film Haq (2025).[2] [3] [4]
Early life and career
[edit]A graduate of Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi, with an MA in Filmmaking from the Mass Communication Research Centre (MCRC), [Jamia Millia Islamia]], Reshu began her career as an assistant director on the National Award-winning film Dance Like a Man. She later moved into writing and directing, working across fiction and non-fiction formats.
Work in streaming and television
[edit]Reshu Nath created and wrote the speculative historical thriller/drama series Bose: Dead/Alive. She also created and wrote the romantic drama Karrle Tu Bhi Mohabbat, starring Sakshi Tanwar and Ram Kapoor, and created and wrote the first two seasons of the romantic series Broken But Beautiful, starring Vikrant Massey and Harleen Sethi.
She created and wrote the first season of the legal thriller Illegal – Justice, Out of Order for Voot and wrote the short film "Glitch", directed by Raj & DK as part of Amazon Prime Video’s anthology Unpaused.
Feature film: Haq (2025)
[edit]Reshu Nath is the writer (Story, Screenplay and Dialogue) of Haq, a 2025 Hindi-language courtroom drama film, starring Yami Gautam Dhar and Emraan Hashmi in the lead roles, produced by Junglee Pictures and Baweja Studios, and directed by Suparn S. Verma. The film, drawing inspiration from the landmark Shah Bano case, explores themes related to women's rights, religious law and justice in India. Haq was released theatrically on 7 November 2025.
