Gaurav Dwivedi is an Indian film and television actor, theatre artist and former radio jockey. He has worked in commercials, television series, web series, short films and in mainstream and independent movies.

He gained popularity as the lead role in the DD National TV series Gora (2012). He started his career with Ketan Mehta's 2008 film Rang Rasiya, and worked with him later in Manjhi - The Mountain Man (2015). Dwivedi worked in the web series Human (2022), Hush Hush (2022), and Crime Beat (2025).

Career

Gaurav Dwivedi is an Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering graduate. He had plans to pursue a Masters degree from Australia, but he changed his career plans and came back to India. He settled in Delhi and worked in Red FM as an RJ, and also hosted shows on All India Radio. He then moved to Pune to pursue acting, and completed the Acting course at FTII (Film and Television Institute of India)[1] of the 2005-2008 batch.[citation needed][2]

During a play at FTII, filmmaker Ketan Mehta observed his emotional range,[2] that lead to his casting as Raja Ravi Varma's younger brother, Raj Varma, in the film Rang Rasiya (2008).[3][4] He followed this up by playing the main lead Gora, in the DD National TV series based on the Rabindranath Tagore novel Gora (2012).[5][6] In 2015, he worked with Ketan Mehta again, playing a journalist[7] in the movie Manjhi – The Mountain Man.[8]

He has worked in Hindi movies Inkaar (2013)[9] and Hawaizaada (2015),[citation needed] Indian-American film For Here or to Go? (2015),[10] Ketan Mehta's short film Toba Tek Singh (2018),[11] and web series Criminal Justice (2019),[12] Human (2022),[13] Hush Hush (2022),[14] Crime Beat (2025),[15] and Made in Heaven.[16]

He acted in short film Bombay Summer[17] which won awards including Best Film, at the New York MIAAC Film Festival in 2009.[18] Still Voices was featured in the film festival India International Film Festival of Tampa Bay.[citation needed]

He featured in commercials such as ICICI Prudential Insurance, HPL LED lighting, Bank of India Home Loans, Honda Amaze, Tata Salt, Kissanpur.com - an initiative by Kissan, Uninor Unlimited Music, and Sony Pal channel.[citation needed]

Personal life

He lives in Mumbai, India.[citation needed] He was married to Naireeta Dasgupta. They separated in 2019, and have a daughter[16] Saman Veda born in 2017.[citation needed]
