  • Comment: Some awards looks good to me but there is a lack of reliable and independent references to the subject having significant coverage about the topic. IMO - winning awards only doesn't demonstrate the notability. Your added references aren't reliable and didn't have enough coverage. YouTube is not a reliable source for it please see WP:RSPYOUTUBE. • Comment: I feel like it's a bit suspicious that the main author of this article is a user with the name "Udi shapiro", whose name is very close to the article subject's name and who has only ever edited this article. This could mean that they have a WP:COI with this article but it could also just be a coincidence. Laura240406 (talk) 12:54, 27 June 2025 (UTC)

She studied jazz voice at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance High School between 2018 and 2020 and again in 2022, before continuing her composition studies at the Special Music School in New York in 2021. Since then, she has been studying composition at the Purcell School in the UK. Her composition teachers include Daniel Fardon, Simon Speare, Josef Bardanashvili, Whitney George, and Irena Svetova.[2]

In 2024 and 2025, Shapiro’s compositions received recognition in several international open-age competitions through anonymous submission processes. Her string quartet movement Devotion won first prize at the 2025 Femfestival in Italy, an international competition for women composers.[3] Her orchestral work Dragonflies Indoors was selected for performance at the International Alliance for Women in Music 2025 Annual Concert in Cologne by the Virago Symphony Orchestra, following an open-age anonymous submission.[4][5]

Both Dragonflies Indoors and her orchestral piece Emergence were finalists in the ORIENT/OCCIDENT Music Composers’ Competition in Ukraine, an open-age anonymous competition, with Emergence receiving a special mention.[6] Her woodwind quintet The Quiet Before the Storm received the Promising Young Talent Prize at the Vienna Classical Music Academy International Composition Competition, which is also open-age and judged anonymously.[7]

Another work, Flourish Regardless, won The Sound Ensemble Composition Competition High School category through anonymous submission and was performed in Seattle.[8] Devotion additionally received the Festival Best Composer Award at the North London Festival, a UK youth music competition.[9]

In 2025, her string quartet movement Distortion was selected for performance by the Roman Quartet at the She Lives Composition Master Class in Budapest, through an open-age anonymous submission.[10][11] The previous year, her piano trio In Search for Serenity was performed by the Salzburg Piano Trio during their Brazil tour and in Tel Aviv as part of the Poem Balev series.[12]

Alongside her compositional work, Shapiro has performed as a singer, including appearances at venues such as Wigmore Hall.
