IBA Pro Bouts

Sorry in advance if this has been discussed previously, but I'm struggling with what to do about IBA "Pro" bouts. Boxrec considers them separately to normal professional bouts for the most part, but how to handle them on Wikipedia should probably be addressed. I've seen some pages counting them separately like boxrec, adding them to pro records normally, or just ignoring them outright. I have no real opinion on this, just think we should get out ahead of it and say definitively how to handle them. ZenZekey (talk) 00:33, 9 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Many public domain photos of boxing through the 80s

G.C. London Publishing published several wrestling and boxing magazines (World Boxing, Boxing International, KO Magazine) in the 70s and 80s, they almost always used an invalid copyright notice. There are many high quality photos in them, but some have no good scan online. There are many people selling these magazines on Ebay, maybe someone can buy some and scan them, I am not able to do that right now.  REAL 💬 ⬆   20:27, 19 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel Dubois II was recently deleted per WP:G5 due to being created by a banned user. An article is clearly needed, so I went ahead and got something started by splitting the contents from Oleksandr Usyk#Usyk vs. Dubois II. Using BARB for PPV buys

I believe Barb is used for viewership numbers. But I can see on many articles, it is used as a source for PPV buys. Although boxing promoters and handlers don't always announce ppv figures, they are sometimes released. PPV's include replays, and I believe replays are added to the BARB viewing figures, which is different to PPV buys. Some numbers ar extremely inflated. Both of Haye-Bellew fights did less than 1 million buys. Golovkin-Brook did closer to 500k buys, Brook-Spence did less than 300k buys. There are sources other than BARB confirming this. Currently Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel Dubois (disambiguation) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) has a note about is lack of entries. Is the first 2023 match the primary topic (a unification bout), or is the second 2025 match the primary topic (becoming the second only two-time undisputed champ)? If it is neither, then we can just move the disambiguation page to the base location, amd move the 2023 match to say Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel Dubois I or Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel Dubois (2023) -- 65.93.183.181 (talk) 16:39, 1 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
