Hello Vineviz

[edit]

I left a note/comment for you at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Music_of_Italy after your entry in the discussion. Man, this is a confusing way to communicate. My email address is on my user page if you want. Thank you for the suggestions and comments. Jeffmatt 07:27, 28 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Music of Italy

[edit]

Hello, again. At

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Music_of_Italy#My_kingdom_for_an_outline.21

I have put up a proposal for rearranging that article. When you get some time, have a look. Jeffmatt 07:26, 30 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Empty articles

[edit]

Articles you have created of Italian bands are empty and as such are not consistent with Wikipedia:Guide to layout or even Wikipedia:Stub. At a minimum, you should seek to provide essential information (3–10 sentences). Thanks. Accurizer 14:59, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I appreciate your comments on the Italian band stubs. I intend to supply at least a little content for each of these stubs (and much more for some), but wanted to get them categorized first so I didn't lose track of them. Vineviz 15:04, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Music of Italy

[edit]

Hello, again. Since you have worked on the Music of Italy article, note that it is now on the peer review list (at or near the top of the list) at Wikipedia:Peer review. We'll see what happens to it. I think it looks ok. I see you are interested in Cassino. As in Battle of...? I went up there a couple of weeks ago with a 92-year old friend of mine and veteran of the entire WW2 campaign. We even stopped at San Pietro, site of the famous battle and John Huston film. Jeffmatt 15:56, 9 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Scholarship removal?

[edit]

Why did you remove the information about the scholarship for University of Cassino. That was relevant information, and is completely factual.

Problems With Genetics in Wiki Articles

[edit]

Thanks for the help on the Cimbri article. I have decided not to mess with any stuff written by that particular party. Too much sound and fury.

Have you had a look at the R1b article lately? It's an incredible jumble. Stevo343 (talk) 19:13, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Re Niliu

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Re Niliu, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Re Niliu seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Re Niliu, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. R1b

[edit]

Hi Vince. I noticed that you have some knowledge of R1b. As you correctly highlighted, ht 35 and 15, so called modal types, are RFLPs. Do you know how ht 35 - the 'Anatolian modal type' discussed by Pericic and Cionnoglu regarding their prevalence in eastern Europe and Anatolia - fit in with the newly discussed subhalogroups of R1b found by Myres and Cruciani ? - L 23 ? The article Banda Cittá Ruvo Di Puglia has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unreferenced music group article of unclear notability; tagged as unreferenced since 2009

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Speedy deletion nomination of San Joaquin Figs

[edit]

Hello Vineviz,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged San Joaquin Figs for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Culture of Italy (important thread)

[edit]

Hi, you've added a disambiguation link. Thank you for your contributions. JacktheBrown (talk) 14:21, 1 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you removed dozens of references yesterday; references are more important than text, also because it's possible that a reference is only on this page and not on others. Could you please restore all the references you deleted yesterday? JacktheBrown (talk) 12:26, 2 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi JacktheBrown, Thanks for your message and for your contributions to the article. While references are important, I believe content should come first, with references supporting it. Per WP:SUMMARYSTYLE, I was - I think - careful to ensure no sources or facts were removed from Culture of Italy that weren’t also in the child articles. But of course I could have made a mistake.
Could you clarify which references were removed that you think are crucial? I’ll review and restore any relevant ones. Vineviz (talk) 12:56, 2 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! I usually don't trust users who remove substantial parts of articles where I've done a remarkable job, but you (albeit with a few small mistakes, which I've corrected) are doing an almost excellent job, so I've decided to trust you and not hinder your work in any way (I also trust Nikkimaria). JacktheBrown (talk) 13:21, 2 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
However, I'll double-check all removed references. JacktheBrown (talk) 13:44, 2 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I want to make sure we get the article under control without losing any crucial information. Vineviz (talk) 14:11, 2 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. JacktheBrown (talk) 14:32, 2 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Would you like to help me with the Culture of the United States article? I'm sure I've done a good job; I've just removed unreferenced content, some images (there were too many), and off-topic content (according to Template:Off topic). JacktheBrown (talk) 14:17, 2 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
