Your submission at Articles for creation: Kevin Donahue (June 15)

[edit]
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by MCE89 was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

The comment the reviewer left was:
Unfortunately, I don't see anything in this draft indicating that Donahue fulfils the criteria in WP:ANYBIO or WP:POLITICIAN. Please familiarise yourself with these pages before amending the draft. If you feel you can meet these requirements, then please make the necessary amendments before resubmitting the page. It would help our volunteer reviewers by identifying, on the draft's talk page, the WP:THREE best sources that establish notability of the subject.

Also, if you have any connection to the subject, including being the subject (see WP:AUTOBIO) or being paid, you have a conflict of interest that you must declare on your Talk page (to see instructions on how to do this please click the link).

It would also be helpful if you could please identify with specificity, exactly which criteria you believe the page meets (eg "I think the page now meets WP:NACTOR criteria #3, because XXXXX").
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Hi!
Thank you for reviewing and providing feedback on Draft: Kevin Donahue! I was hoping you could help me improve by addressing some questions I have.
First, the conflict of interest… I added it to my user page – at least I think! - at the beginning of my article creation. Does it need to be on the talk page, as you indicated, instead? If so, I’ll try to remedy using the link you provided!
On the notability side - I think this page meets the WP:POLITICIAN because Donahue holds state-wide office, as indicated in bullet one. It’s a little confusing because Washington, DC does not have official statehood, but for all intents and purposes, DC operates as a state, making its political figures state officers. Is that a reasonable explanation in your experience?
I also wanted to thank you for the tip on WP:THREE. I will definitely pull out the sources to make things a bit easier on the volunteer reviewers in the future.
Again, thank you! I really appreciate your review! Presleyconnor (talk) 20:24, 17 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
