Welcome Polkol777!
Hello Polkol777. Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions!

I'm Abo Yemen, one of the other editors here, and I hope you decide to stay and help contribute to this amazing repository of knowledge.

Some pages of helpful information to get you started:
  Introduction to Wikipedia
  The five pillars of Wikipedia
  Editing tutorial
  How to edit a page
  Simplified Manual of Style
  The basics of Wikicode
  How to develop an article
  How to create an article
  Help pages
  What Wikipedia is not
Some common sense Dos and Don'ts:
  Do be bold
  Do assume good faith
  Do be civil
  Do keep cool!
Do maintain a neutral point of view
  Don't spam
  Don't infringe copyright
Don't edit where you have a conflict of interest
  Don't commit vandalism
  Don't get blocked
If you need further help, you can:
  Ask a question
or you can:
  Get help at the Teahouse
or even:
Ask an experienced editor to "adopt" you

Alternatively, leave me a message at my talk page or type {{Help me}} here on your talk page and someone will try to help.

There are many ways you can contribute to Wikipedia. Here are a few ideas:
  Fight vandalism
Be a WikiFairy or a WikiGnome
  Help contribute to articles
  Perform maintenance tasks

Become a member of a project that interests you
  Help design new templates
Subscribe and contribute to The Signpost
Translate articles from Wikipedias in other languages

To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own personal sandbox for use any time. It's perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.

Please remember to:

  • Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes ~~~~ at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to your talk page, and a timestamp.
  • Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.
The best way to learn about something is to experience it. Explore, learn, contribute, and don't forget to have some fun!

Sincerely, 𐩣𐩫𐩧𐩨 Abo Yemen (𓃵) (Leave me a message) 21:38, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Would the information about being careful on poolsides be more appropriate for the pool article? Polkol777 (talk) 00:21, 8 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Swimming pool has a Safety section. Fall injuries could be added but will require one or more references. It cannot be advice.David notMD (talk) 11:20, 10 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It actually seems like that whole section needs more citations. Polkol777 (talk) 15:04, 10 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
"Running on the edge of a pool is not recommended as it is oftentimes slippery; this creates a falling risk and possibility of injury." This is exactly the type of 'advice' wording that is not allowed. The reference is also not properly formatted. What you need is a non-lawfirm reference such as https://thebossmagazine.com/common-causes-of-slip-fall-injuries-at-pools/ and a description of slip/fall risks, without advice. David notMD (talk) 17:34, 10 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the advice and the source.
It seems the other two paragraphs in the safety section are also without citations. Polkol777 (talk) 18:35, 10 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, references needed for all parts of that section. David notMD (talk) 19:33, 10 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
have gone back to help :)

What part of "please drop this do you not understand"? I asked you twice to drop this, and you still posted to my talk page. Please stay off my talk page. Meters (talk) 06:48, 11 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I understand it perfectly well but I also understand that you were wrong in some of your claims. I will stay off your talk page now Polkol777 (talk) 06:57, 11 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I've explained this multiple times. I've given you the links. I've had to ban you from my talk page because you wouldn't drop this. As I said, I've wasted more than enough time having you try to convince me I'm wrong. You really should take the hint. I would suggest that until you have more experience with Wikipedia you should simply believe an experienced editor when they tell you that you are mistaken. I don't want you to comment on my talk page, and I won't respond here again. Meters (talk) 07:21, 11 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
"I don't want you to comment on my talk page", ok, I agreed to do that in my last correspondence  Polkol777 (talk) 07:29, 11 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Gotcha, the edit kinda brought up a cool idea to me where literally every word would be hyperlinked. But yeah definitely not constructive Polkol777 (talk) 17:49, 24 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
