Hi there. Hope you are well. Thanks for the welcome. Yeah, so I'm just getting started here. I see some areas on the page for the Mirage-Treasure Island Tram that I think could use added info. I just need to do some research but I want to improve it. --NevadaExpert (talk) 17:03, 20 August 2024 (UTC)
Sentence case
[edit]Hi, thank you for your contributions. I note your creation of Category:Integrated Resorts in the United States and related subcategories.
Wikipedia uses sentence case; see WP:NCCAPS. I don't believe "integrated resort" is a proper name (?) The category name should therefore be Category:Integrated resorts in the United States; same idea for the subcategories. 162 etc. (talk) 21:42, 27 January 2025 (UTC)
That’s fine and should be corrected. --NevadaExpert (talk) 21:43, 27 January 2025 (UTC)

CfD nomination at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2025 February 7 § Category:Integrated Resorts
[edit]
A category or categories you have created have been nominated for possible deletion, merging, or renaming. A discussion is taking place to decide whether this proposal complies with the categorization guidelines. If you would like to participate in the discussion, you are invited to add your comments at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2025 February 7 § Category:Integrated Resorts on the categories for discussion page. Addition of casinos
[edit]Please check Google maps or the local GIS before adding more casinos to cities. I have reverted two of your recent edits. Having a city's mailing address does not mean it's located in that city. Thanks. Magnolia677 (talk) 22:33, 20 February 2025 (UTC)
I work in the industry and I know where these places are. If this doesn’t comply with Wikipedia standards then maybe the page for Harrah’s Southern California shouldn’t list valley center as it’s location (which it does). The page for the Hard Rock Resort in Hollywood FL should also have its listed location on its page changed. I’ll be glad to fix that. --NevadaExpert (talk) 00:44, 21 February 2025 (UTC)
- Fixed the locations listed on the pages for those two resorts. You are correct since these resorts are located on reservation land. But there are lots of Native American casinos on reservation land, meaning the listed locations on those pages would need changing. Technically speaking, it would be correct to fix this in my view. However, perhaps this requires discussion. This may very well need to be addressed on a case by case basis. My employer is a property with a commercial casino, so I’m not sure if I can determine how to list locations for Native American casinos. But let’s discuss and hopefully we can come to a solution. --NevadaExpert (talk) 00:55, 21 February 2025 (UTC)
- "I know where these places are" - please read WP:Verifiability, not truth and provide reliable, verifiable sources. Personal knowledge is not enough. Cabayi (talk) 09:52, 21 February 2025 (UTC)

Hello NevadaExpert. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:NevadaExpert. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=NevadaExpert|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. All your edits are casino-related, and you wrote: "I work in the industry". Please explain. Magnolia677 (talk) 11:11, 21 February 2025 (UTC)
- I am not being paid for this, nor do I expect compensation. These are simply edits on pages since I am familiar with the topics on the pages I edit. I am simply using my knowledge to help improve these pages and to help Wikipedia provide the best and most detailed and accurate pages on these topics. Sadly, we live in a time where there is so much misinformation out there and I feel that I have a duty to help make sure people have the truth out there. Wikipedia should be one of those places. Personally speaking, the idea of being paid for this would go against my personal values. My commitment is to facts and helping pages which are on topics I know about to be the best and most accurate they can be. I’m one person, but I believe in Wikipedia and supporting Wikipedia to be a place for facts, especially at a time when facts get ignored by those who are in positions of power. We can all make a difference and this is one way I do that. --NevadaExpert (talk) 19:17, 21 February 2025 (UTC)
- You literally said, "I work in the industry". Magnolia677 (talk) 19:30, 21 February 2025 (UTC)
- I did say that, but I’m not being paid to edit. All I was saying before is that my knowledge can be helpful because of that. Like I said, getting paid to edit Wikipedia would go against my values and commitment to facts and the truth. And I agree, if someone is being paid to edit pages, it would make it hard for them to be objective. This is why I am a firm believer in making sure things are factual because there are people out there who would be very happy to ignore and deny facts when it suites their purposes. We have an obligation as individuals to support facts. NevadaExpert (talk) 19:35, 21 February 2025 (UTC)
- Let me see if I have this straight. You work in the casino industry, and every edit you have made has been to improve a casino article...but you're not a paid editor. Magnolia677 (talk) 23:02, 21 February 2025 (UTC)
- That’s correct. I already answered this question twice and that is what I have stated. NevadaExpert (talk) 00:23, 22 February 2025 (UTC)
- Just because someone's edits focus on the industry they work in doesn't mean they're a paid editor. That's a failure to assume good faith. People who work in an industry tend to be knowledgeable about and have an interest in an industry. If anything, we need to encourage people with expertise in an area to contribute. oknazevad (talk) 16:46, 11 March 2025 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in List of integrated resorts, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. You have re-done this change even after it was reverted. See MOS:NOSECTIONLINKS. CodeTalker (talk) 02:51, 2 March 2025 (UTC)
- What I was reverting was the section that ended up reading “New York (state)|New York”. It would simply read “New York”. That was the error that needed correcting. It is fine now and it has been properly fixed as suggested. --NevadaExpert (talk) 13:59, 2 March 2025 (UTC)
- I have just started the talk page for List of integrated resorts. I can see that there were certain formatting issues that you fixed and I’m cool with that. There are some spots where I tried to improve. I started the List of Integrated Resorts page after it was suggested that I do so. So much of the work on that page has been from me, but I would love it if other editors came onto the talk page so we could discuss ways of making it better. If you are interested, I would love the opportunity to talk with you on the talk page for that article. Sometimes it helps to have second opinions and fresh ideas. NevadaExpert (talk) 20:58, 2 March 2025 (UTC)
Adding references
[edit]Just want to say I appreciate greatly your consistency in including a reference with each addition. With that said, including the access date is needed to prevent loss of citations if and when a website changes. Using a template like template:cite web can make it easier to keep track of what should be included in a full citation. (Also, there's no space between a period at the end of a sentence and the following citation.) oknazevad (talk) 16:53, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Defunct casino hotels in California
[edit]
A tag has been placed on Category:Defunct casino hotels in California indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. ✗plicit 03:38, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- I had erroneously added a page to that category after I thought it was needed. I took that article out of there after I realized the property was no defunct. As a result, I erroneously created that category. I have no problem with deleting it. However, if a casino hotel in California were to become defunct I would recreate that category as it would then be necessary. --NevadaExpert (talk) 15:23, 10 April 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Hi NevadaExpert. Thank you for your work on Hotel Eden. Another editor, JSFarman, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:
Hi, it's amazing that there was no article about Hotel Eden! Thanks for your contribution. There are many references that can be used; I am surprised that (as an experienced editor) you used Trip Advisor and a source related to the hotel. I added CondeNast Traveler and the Telegraph but there are many more if you would like to further develop the article. Thanks for writing it!

JSFarman (talk) 20:35, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
- I was surprised that this article didn’t already exist too. I go to Italy often and it’s one of those places I always pass by. If the walls of that hotel could talk! So I decided to start the page on here as it is really a hotel that needs a page. I am planning to add to it. There are a handful of things I’d like to add, so I’ll be working on it. If you want to come on board and work with me on developing this article, by all means feel free to do so. Anyway, this is an important hotel and landmark in Rome, so I feel that this article can be of importance to a lot of people who may come on here looking for things about Rome when it comes to history etc. NevadaExpert (talk) 21:35, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
- I have a gazillion articles that I want to work on and I will definitely add Hotel Eden to it! (I wrote an article about Pasticceria Boccione - it was across the street from an Airbnb I stayed at in the Jewish Ghetto - I was psyched there wasn't an article because it was a blast to write/research.) JSFarman (talk) 21:50, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
- Interesting. There are a handful of hotels in Italy that do not have Wikipedia articles that probably should have articles. So that is a project I would like to take on. NevadaExpert (talk) 22:43, 11 May 2025 (UTC)

You are adding this to 100s of articles, and being reverted all over the place Special:Diff/1290604952/1290609440 Special:Diff/1290604321/1290609551. Stop it. This is clearly controversial and you shouldn't be doing this. As I said here:
- this is a industry trade term, not for general usage. You could use it in the body of the article, but not in the first introductory sentence. Also the article on this says the terms is mainly Singaporean.
..And it was said here Special:Diff/1290604321/1290609551:
- This is not a common term for Vegas
Do you plan on reverting all this, or will you leave it to others? -- GreenC 22:18, 15 May 2025 (UTC)
- It’s an accurate term. This is the term that is used now and it is widely used in the industry. So no, I will not revert edits which use the accurate industry term. The term was coined in Singapore and has since been come to be used widely in the industry, including here in the US. All I’m doing is keeping these pages up to date with the proper terminology. Now if Wikipedia wants to keep using terms which are not the correct term, then I’m fine with that. If my edits and expertise are not appreciated, I can sure spend my time doing other things. --NevadaExpert (talk) 22:24, 15 May 2025 (UTC)
- THERE IS NO CONSENSUS. See this page which undid all those categories: Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2025_February_7#Category:Integrated_Resorts. You clearly know better and continue to do this despite obvious contention against it. Until you have consensus, stop it. You are literally deleting the fact these are CASINOS and HOTELS from the lead sentence. Nobody in the general population knows what an "integrated resort" is. Wikipedia is not the place to push new terminologies. We report how it's most commonly known and understood. This is a general purpose encyclopedia, for people who know nothing about the topic, they need to know these are actually hotels and casinos, without having to be aware of some obscure industry-insider terminology. If you still disagree then start a discussion some place central and get consensus. -- GreenC 22:37, 15 May 2025 (UTC)
- There is no need to respond in all caps like this. That to me looks like yelling and I believe there is a rule about that. Like I said, integrated resort is the term that is used in the industry and even the press has come around to using the term, much to my surprise. And I have gotten consensuses before. I got the green light a few months back to created an article for List of integrated resorts which I created. So I have reached consensuses before. I may not have 130,000 edits and I may not have a high rank in the world of wikipedias hierarchy, but I improves pages on these topics, I update pages that need updating as news becomes available. I often raise issues on talk pages and am happy when it gets a response and a discussion. So I do believe in consensus and I believe in making sure proper terms are used when it comes to this industry. NevadaExpert (talk) 22:46, 15 May 2025 (UTC)
- I have no problem with this term in principal, but in the first sentence of the lead section is a problem. It is clearly not a widely known term, outside insider industry circles, and that first sentence is very critical for general readers to understand what the article topic is. If it doesn't say hotel and casino, that's a problem. State it clearly so anybody can understand what the article is, without needing specialized terms that are not commonly known. -- GreenC 22:56, 15 May 2025 (UTC)
- All I’m doing is using my knowledge to help make these pages better. The term integrated resort should still be used on pages for integrated resorts in some capacity. If not in the heading then someplace else. I’m really not in the mood for a debate as I recently underwent surgery after being injured in a car accident which I did not cause, so I’m at home for a few days. I have been amazed at how Wikipedia pages for hotels, casinos and other topics related to the hospitality industry need improvements. So I to the best of my ability try to make these pages better. There are literally pages for smaller hotels (without casinos) that never get updated. Some are way out of date, so I think it’s good that I try to help as best I can. NevadaExpert (talk) 23:04, 15 May 2025 (UTC)
- @NevadaExpert, it's great that you are using your knowledge to improve articles, but please remember that all Wikipedia articles are written for a general audience, not for casino industry insiders. Every profession has insider jargon that in many cases is more accurate than terminology used by outsiders, but we should not use such jargon indiscriminately without explanation if the terminology is not widely known. It's not helpful to the reader to use a term that they do not understand. I agree with GreenC that such terms should not be used without consensus, especially in the lead sentence. Please do not continue to make these changes, which cause unnecessary work for other editors who need to review and revert your changes. CodeTalker (talk) 23:54, 15 May 2025 (UTC)
- Don’t worry about it. I won’t change anything. Now I really am not in the mood for any debates because I’m recovering from surgery on my leg. I won’t change anything. NevadaExpert (talk) 01:05, 16 May 2025 (UTC)

Trump Force One
[edit]Just a heads up, but I reverted your edits to Trump Force One as they did not reflect the sources you provided. The Scottish Sun reported that Trump Force One had arrived ahead of the president, who would arrive later on Air Force One. Yahoo News doesn't even mention Trump Force One, but it does say that he arrived on Air Force One. Since Trump Force One is a private aircraft, it would likely use the callsign Executive One if it ever carried a sitting president. - ZLEA T\C 00:08, 27 July 2025 (UTC)
