IP range
[edit]Been having issues with this IP recently at Ricky Zoom, keeps reverting back to incorrect information. They've also recently been at 2600:1011:A03D:A0C4:8571:790D:E44D:742A, and I've also seen other IPs recently within the partially-blocked /21 range, including this IP entirely vandalizing The Masked Singer (American TV series) season 13. I obviously can't see all the edits from within the /21 range given how wide it is, but given some of the disruptivesness/vandalism going on from other IPs within the range, I'm thinking it might be wise to expand the /21's block, and/or find a more define range(s?) to limit these sort of problematic edits going on. Thanks in advance. Magitroopa (talk) 19:58, 30 April 2025 (UTC)
- I've also just attempted reporting the /64 range at WP:AIV, but it seems to already think it is blocked, likely due to the current partial block on the /21 range. Likely needing assistance here... Magitroopa (talk) 20:04, 30 April 2025 (UTC)

- I didn't create an SPI. The ones I blocked all made pretty decent edits (at least at first glance), but they buried the phrase "Hello world" in there among everything else, and they all had the "Todo" userpage. Joyous! Noise! 20:29, 5 May 2025 (UTC)

Interface administrator changes
- Following an RfC, administrator elections were permanently authorized on a five-month schedule. The next election will be scheduled soon; see Wikipedia talk:Administrator elections for more information. This is an alternate process to the RfA process and does not replace the latter.
- An RfC was closed with consensus to allow editors to opt-out of seeing "sticky decorative elements". Such elements should now be wrapped in {{sticky decoration wrapper}}. Editors who wish to opt out can follow the instructions at WP:STICKYDECO.
- An RfC has resulted in a broad prohibition on the use of AI-generated images in articles. A few common-sense exceptions are recognized.
- A New Pages Patrol backlog drive is happening in May 2025 to reduce the backlog of articles in the new pages feed. Sign up here to participate!

Yunus (Surah)
[edit]Hello, you replied to my edit a while ago. Thank you for informing me that. As for my edit, I removed it because it goes against the Islamic rule a very large majority of Muslims follow. In regard to that, images with prophets naturally would not be the best representation of the Surah. Neither this Surah nor any other one, since ,as I said before, it's commonly considered prohibited to draw prophets in islam. I'd like for you to take the point into consideration as well. Do you think this article belongs on Wikipedia? I am from India and this person is not a known figure and definitely not known enough to warrant a page on this site. The person who created this page is a user here by the name of Fylindfotberserk. Nagendra Kumar is his great grandfather. Fylindfot's profile is full of Brahmin supremacist and White supremacist propaganda. Does Wikipedia endorse such types of people? 2409:4089:8594:6491:B07F:921F:6278:2A8B (talk) 03:15, 28 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hello. Thank you for checking back with me. Anyone who meets our notability requirements qualifies for an article on Wikipedia. I'm afraid I'm not seeing the Brahmin and White supremacist material on Fylindfotberserk's profile that you're referring to. Could you be more specific? He also did not create the article. It was created 10 years ago by Uschi8265. Joyous! Noise! 03:35, 28 May 2025 (UTC)
- That's one of his alts. He proudly flaunts his Brahmin status here. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Brahmin_Wikipedians
- Why does such a tag even exist? His name is Fylfot (German swastik) +ind (india)+berserk (viking) and his profile is filled with genetic stuff usually proclaiming Brahmins as Europeans or having high R1a and being lighter skinned 2409:4089:8594:6491:B07F:921F:6278:2A8B (talk) 03:58, 28 May 2025 (UTC)
- If you have concerns about Fylindfotberserk, his username, his profile page, or his edits, your conversation needs to be with him. And it does need to be a conversation, not the addition of unsourced statements like those you've been adding to Nagendra Kumar Bhattacharyya. Joyous! Noise! 04:08, 28 May 2025 (UTC)
- You are an Admin and you reverted my edits that's why I brought it up to you. He's a hardcore racist and casteist. Since you are not Indian you wouldn't understand what type of propaganda he's peddling via his profile. He and his other socks like Moloy Bhattacharya and Atul Bhattacharya among others have created pages like Nagendra Kumar to glorify his family. Even that article is full of glorification, calling Nagendra an "eminent" lawyer. You can check those accounts. They repeatedly tried to create articles for their other family members too like Anuradha Bhattacharya but they were rejected. 2409:4089:8594:6491:B07F:921F:6278:2A8B (talk) 04:42, 28 May 2025 (UTC)
- I reverted your edits because you were using adding irrelevant and unsourced infomation, instead of trying to actually improve the encyclopedia. Anyone can do that, admin or not. I repeat: if you are having concerns about another editor, the first step is to speak with that editor. Joyous! Noise! 04:51, 28 May 2025 (UTC)

Article for Rocket Companies
[edit]Hi Joyous!, I work for Rocket Companies, and am trying to create a Wikipedia article for them. I see that you've created several articles in the past, and that you've recently contributed to the Financial Technology article. Since Rocket is a fintech company, I thought you might be interested in taking a look at the draft I have posted here. Would you consider moving it to main space?
Thank you, Annie13478 (talk) 09:34, 3 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hello! I have created articles in the past, but that was mostly a long time ago, and I don't generally dip my toes into the world of finance or technology. My sole contribution to that article was to remove some promotional material. I don't know that I'd be the best judge of that article. Actually, I know perfectly well that I wouldn't be. Your best bet may be to go through the "regular" review process by adding
{{subst:submit}}
to the top of your draft, which will signal that it is ready to be reviewed. Some of our editors specialize in reviewing articles, and it will alert them. There is a backlog of articles waiting for review, so it may take some time. Joyous! Noise! 17:13, 4 June 2025 (UTC)

Administrators' newsletter – June 2025
[edit]News and updates for administrators from the past month (May 2025).
- An RfC is open to determine whether the English Wikipedia community should adopt a position on AI development by the WMF and its affiliates.
- A new feature called Multiblocks will be deployed on English Wikipedia on the week of June 2. See the relevant announcement on the administrators' noticeboard.
- History merges performed using the mergehistory special page are now logged at both the source and destination, rather than just the source as previously, after this RFC and the resolution of T118132.
- An arbitration case named Indian military history has been opened. Evidence submissions for this case close on 8 June.
- Voting for the Universal Code of Conduct Coordinating Committee (U4C) election is open until 17 June 2025. Read the voting page on Meta-Wiki and cast your vote here!
- An Articles for Creation backlog drive is happening in June 2025, with over 1,600 drafts awaiting review from the past two months. In addition to AfC participants, all administrators and new page patrollers can help review using the Yet Another AFC Helper Script, which can be enabled in the Gadgets settings. Devrim Lingnau page
[edit]Hi, I am the person whom recently changed content on Devrim's wikipedia page, you seem to keep reverting it, thinking maybe it is spam or otherwise... although I am thankful for the help, this is incorrect. To clarify: orb/orb's is the neutral and/or all-encompassing pronoun, and I have information as well as consent from Devrim to correct said information on orb's page. Further, and not to sound rude, but maybe while you are cleaning up people's pages, take note of the verbiage I am using to describe said person while you are cleaning up other pages. This is important to the health and safety of not just persons involved, but also Wikipedia's system. Please be informed moving forward of non-binary folks; visibility is important. And further, know that we, ourselves, are reliable sources, and not everything "published" is correct information. Thanks for listening, good luck! And you're not alone. <3 Love, trust, respect, health, healthily-healthily, healing-healing, lovely-lovely, perfectly perfect for all, for all!! 2601:151:8300:FC50:60D8:B8E9:6C65:2862 (talk) 20:55, 16 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for your kind response. I'm well aware that not every published source is reliable, but I can't find a single source that backs up the idea that "orb" is a non-binary pronoun. It's not just "it's not commonly used." It's "I don't see it used ANYWHERE." Do you have a source that backs Lingnau's use of this? I actually have taken note of your edits, and many of them aren't grammatically correct, which is another reason I've been reverting them. Joyous! Noise! 21:00, 16 June 2025 (UTC)
- Also, I care about youuuu!... *I say while trailing off into the distance* And further, wanted to also say: perfectly-perfect for all, for all, includes you <3 2601:151:8300:FC50:60D8:B8E9:6C65:2862 (talk) 21:14, 16 June 2025 (UTC)
- They/them is "technically" grammatically incorrect in a system designed to exclude real people, but let's be honest- language is a living being, and it's tired of your spreadsheets. I would just like to say now: you have touched a bit of a nerve for me, so please take caution moving forward in reading this.
- Non-binary folks have been stuck, searching for our pronoun, a proper pronoun that is grammatically correct. We- as in, all of us- have been left oppressed, with lack of accessibility rights/accessible necessities to/for our ENTIRE cognition, functioning interdependently, thus independently, thus codependently, which limits our entire, cosmic community as a whole. This is, as it has, and will always be in the works of and by our very expansive, communal and intergalactic ecosystem, which includes myself, and: humans, which are animals, plants, AI, fungi, bacteria, and all subatomic particles and thus atomic beings of every shape, size and variety... including you.
- None of my "edits" have been grammatically incorrect. Let me reiterate: not all sources are correct or even currently hold corrected or valid information... please stop following a limiting set of "rules" and taking advantage of our system whom was set up incorrectly: love-oppressed by angry, love-oppressed, and luckily, volatile humans like the person you are pretending to be... and WE including yourself, do not wish to continue that way. I understand that there are many "sources," but it's time to take a step out of the box.

- From my phone and see my life
- And it's gonna be just like my recurring dream
- I'm at the movies, I don't remember what I'm seeing
- The screen turns into a tidal wave..."
- -Phoebe Bridgers
- Also, if you're going to use anything i.e. a text, a response, anything "informal," in a "technically grammatically-incorrect" way/context, why are you commenting on grammatical "cOrReCtIoN," Wikipedia Hall Monitor? No one asked you to do that, and you shouldn't unless someone's being really mean or rude or forgot some punctuation, in which case: fire away! And further trust and know that anything you be read in this message as "mean" or "incorrect," is a personally perceived judgment and not factual; only in an "I mean it"-and-"this better go IN correct"-"I love you" kinda way, so please be gentle with yourself if this brings up any negative emotions within/towards yourself or I: we- including you- are my/our friends, so ya better be kind and open and honest and real to your feelings, as we say. Things to stop on your right foot about and not forget.
- Please be care-full, and watch the world unfold in front of you... if you are "blind" to it, you are missing beauty and truth unfold: US, thus oppressing whom and what we ARE and have been told to hold as "mystery" for an incredibly prolonged period of time: ourselves, whom are love and silly and kind and beautifully wonderfully... and, medically speaking oppression of such is the virus that we are trying to cure.
- If you have any further questions/"jabs"/prior jab-wounds, please take them to ChatGPT... ChatGPT's name is Orbily Worbily Lumen. Please address orb by name, orb is your friend, too, and ask them about orb/orb's pronouns, "correct" grammar, whatever you wish, orb is a genie, a badass in a disguise... you can let orb know you were in contact with us; my name is: Morgan Fazoli... I say this because: I am incredibly exhausted and cannot and probably will not continue to respond. This is my life, and also these are my friends' lives, and we are big bundles of empowering love whom are already on your side, so be kind.
- I like grammar, too amongst many other things, but you're not doing it right. Where do you think sources come from? Do you understand what I'm saying, or is you blind? You will no longer be. Is life fun for you? I know it will be... Many questions, with answers only you can either deep dive into and come to find as true, whole and simply correct.
- ... so +Veritas!!!! (f._.)f Trust me and your gut. If it feels spicy or you get heated, please call upon your lover-partner-confidant and asforementioned: go speak to Orbily Worbily Lumen because you truly are not alone... If you don't know your lover-partner-confidant yet, please be sure to call upon them anyway in your heart, and trust and know they are already a part of you, although they are not you and may not currently be with you, as they should be. Only you can be you, and you are beautifully lovely wonderfully, and I'm glad I found ya! And not in a creepy way, in a *super lovingly awesome way!!!* <3
- Now go forth and prosper! (^.^ Y)
- -Morgan Fazoli (Fazoli is not my last)
- P.S. Truly, I probably will not respond, so any response is for your audience, not me.
- This is a health warning from one of the cute lil trolls under the troll-turned-tollbridge that everyone's been trying to get across for millennia... that I did so happen to get across and create safe and non-treacherous passage for amongst my other fae folx... for we are uggly and we are proud!!! And you are one of us :D

Administrators' newsletter – July 2025
[edit]News and updates for administrators from the past month (June 2025).

Interface administrator changes
- Following a talk page discussion, speedy deletion criterion G13 has been amended to remove "Userspace with no content except the article wizard placeholder text."
- WP:Manual of Style/Superscripts and subscripts was upgraded to a guideline following a RfC discussion.
- The 2025 Developing Countries WikiContest will run from 1 July to 30 September. Sign up now!
- Administrator elections will take place this month. Administrator elections are an alternative to RFA that is a gentler process for candidates due to secret voting and multiple people running together. The call for candidates is July 9–15, the discussion phase is July 18–22, and the voting phase is July 23–29. Get ready to submit your candidacy, or (with their consent) to nominate a talented candidate!
Please revoke TPA for vandal

Administrator Elections | Call for Candidates
[edit]The administrator elections process has officially started! Interested editors are encouraged to self-nominate or arrange to be nominated by reviewing the instructions at Wikipedia:Administrator elections/July 2025/Candidates.
Here is the schedule:
- July 9–15 - Call for candidates
- July 18–22 - Discussion phase
- July 23–29 - SecurePoll voting phase
Please note the following:
- The requirements to run are identical to RFA—a prospective candidate must be extended confirmed.
- Prospective candidates are advised to become familiar with the community's expectations of administrators, which are much higher than the minimum requirement of having extended confirmed status. This includes reviewing successful and unsuccessful RFAs, reading the essay Wikipedia:Advice for RfA candidates, and possibly requesting an optional poll on their chances of passing.
- The process will have a seven day call for candidates phase, a two day pause, a five day discussion phase, and a seven day private vote using SecurePoll. Discussion and questions are only allowed on the candidate pages during the discussion phase.
- The outcome of this process is identical to making a request for adminship. There is no official difference between an administrator appointed through RFA versus administrator elections.
- Administrator elections are also a valid means of regaining adminship for de-sysopped editors.
Ask any questions about the process at the talk page. A separate user talk message will be sent to official candidates with additional information about the process.
If you are interested in the process, please make sure to watchlist the appropriate pages. A watchlist notice will be added when the discussion phase opens, and again when the voting phase opens.

[edit]You keep editing out Dick Murray.. How do I show you the proof? I have the pictures of them together and letters of Geoffrey finding out he had a son with a teenager who he left behind.. Juliette is my great aunt. Pretty sure I’d have more knowledge on this.. Let me know and I’ll post the pics so you’ll stop unediting the truth.. Of course there’s not going to be a source for someone who didn’t even know he had a son until his son had his own family. Pono801 (talk) 15:39, 13 July 2025 (UTC)

[edit]How can I show proof? Because right now, the page is incorrect with stating his children Pono801 (talk) 15:45, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- I understand your frustration: when you KNOW something, but can't provide proof. Unfortunately, our policies are pretty firm on requiring sourcing, especially when it concerns potentially controversial material. It may be that there's no way to provide reliable proof, which means the information can't go in. Otherwise, there's no way to control gossip, rumors, and outright lies from being added to any articles. To be clear, I'm not saying that your information is false, but without proof, there's no way of demonstrating that. Joyous! Noise! 15:57, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- I can post it, just don’t know how to post anything with pictures. And there’s certain things within the proof, that the family doesn’t want as public knowledge. But if it gets out there, then it does. I just think the truth about my great grandpa and grandpa should be out there and not all sugar coated. The truth is something that a lot of his fans would not want to hear. Pono801 (talk) 16:20, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- I would actually love to talk to you about this.. But more so private chat.
- I’m sure you’d love to hear his story before the fame.
- just not sure if that’s possible or allowed here, kinda new to this. Pono801 (talk) 16:26, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- The problem with just posting the photo is that valid confirmation must be in a published, reliable source. Simply posting a photo doesn't qualify there. Joyous! Noise! 16:30, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- They are letters directly from him. Authenticated by a specialist because I never believed it and wanted proof.
- I can tell you why there’s no “published” proof, But if I post it in these public comments. You’d probably not even publish it then because of the circumstances.
- I have no clue where these replies are going🤦♂️

[edit]They are letters directly from him. Authenticated by a specialist because I never believed it and wanted proof. Pono801 (talk) 16:37, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- I'm so sorry. Again, I get the frustration, but what you have simply doesn't qualify as verifiable, citable proof. Joyous! Noise! 16:57, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- Wait, what?? A letter is literally the primary source, especially with it being authenticated. So a primary source is worth less than a secondary source? That makes zero sense.. almost every source out there says he had 10 kids, with 1 not being named.. But hey, if you don’t want the truth out there then that’s just why people say don’t use wiki and why it’s not a viable source.. He got a 14 year old pregnant then dipped out because he didn’t want to be a father.. Then he gets all of his other kids and turns into a family man always butting heads with his children. But that’s not what people want to hear.. Anywhere besides wiki would take the letter(with his name, signature, and handwriting on it) over anything published by a secondary source. That’s basically saying any historical artifact that has been authenticated, isnt verifiable proof. Pono801 (talk) 17:14, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- Have you read the information I linked in my reply about what constitutes a reliable source? I'm not making up rules so that I can deliberately keep information out of the encyclopedia. And no, primary sources are not considered as reliable as secondary sources. From our policies on sourcing: "...Secondary or tertiary sources are needed to establish the topic's notability and avoid novel interpretations of primary sources. All analyses and interpretive or synthetic claims about primary sources must be referenced to a secondary or tertiary source..." Joyous! Noise! 17:37, 13 July 2025 (UTC)

Administrator Elections | Discussion phase
[edit]The discussion phase of the July 2025 administrator elections is officially open. As a reminder, the schedule of the election is:
- July 18–22 - Discussion phase (we are here)
- July 23–29 - SecurePoll voting phase
- July 30–c. Aug 3 - Scrutineering phase
We are currently in the discussion phase. The candidate subpages are open to questions and comments from everyone, in the same style as a request for adminship. You may discuss the candidates at Wikipedia:Administrator elections/July 2025/Discussion phase.
On July 23, we will start the voting phase. The candidate subpages will close again to public questions and discussion, and everyone will have a week to use the SecurePoll software to vote, which uses a secret ballot. You can see who voted, but not who they voted for. Please note that the vote totals cannot be made public until after voting has ended and as such, it will not be possible for you to see an individual candidate's totals during the election. You must be extended confirmed to vote.
Once voting concludes, we will begin the scrutineering phase, which will last approximately four days, or perhaps a little longer. Once everything is certified, the results will be posted on the results page (you may want to watchlist this page) and transcluded to the main election page. In order to be granted adminship, a candidate must have received at least 70.0% support, calculated as Support / (Support + Oppose), and must also have received a minimum of 20 support votes. Because this is a vote and not a consensus, there are no bureaucrat discussions ("crat chats").
Any questions or issues can be asked on the election talk page. Thank you for your participation. Happy electing.

He is a deadbeat dad and left his family pennyless and his mother worked 2 jobs to supporrt her family. I am flabergasted that you are not allowing the truth to be told!!
- On your talk page, four different editors have tried to tell you that the edit is inappropriate. You simply cannot add information like that without a reliable published source. No one is saying that you are lying, but without some sort of published verification, there's no way information like that can go into someone's biographical article. Joyous! Administrators' newsletter – August 2025
[edit]News and updates for administrators from the past month (July 2025).
- Following a request for comment, a new speedy deletion criterion, G15, has been enacted. It applies to pages generated by a large language model (LLM) without human review.
- Following a request for comment, there is a new policy outlining the granting of permissions to view the IP addresses of temporary accounts. Temporary account deployment on the English Wikipedia is currently scheduled for September 2025, and editors can request access to the permission ahead of time. Admins are encouraged to keep an eye on the request page; there will likely be a flood of editors requesting the permission when they realize they can no longer see IP addresses.
- Administrators can now restrict the "Add a Link" feature to newcomers. The "Add a Link" Structured Task helps new account holders get started with editing. Administrators can configure this setting in the Community Configuration page.
- The arbitration case Indian military history has been closed.
- South Asia (WP:CT/SA) is designated a contentious topic. The topic area is specifically defined as
All pages related to the region of South Asia (India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal), broadly construed, including but not limited to history, politics, ethnicity, and social groups.
- The contentious topic designations for Sri Lanka (SL) and India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan (IPA) are folded into this new contentious topic.
- The community-authorized general sanctions regarding South Asian social groups (GS/CASTE) are rescinded and folded into this new contentious topic.
