Managing a conflict of interest
[edit] Hello, Itsmandyah. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Draft:Regina Lim, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template), including links or details of reliable sources that support your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. DoubleGrazing (talk) 06:18, 21 April 2025 (UTC)

As previously advised, your edits give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:Itsmandyah, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Itsmandyah|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:04, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
- ok so what would you suggest i edit. I read through but i am quite confused on what i have to change and what is actually ok. please advise Itsmandyah (talk) 07:07, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
- You have rather oddly added your comment to a thread asking if you have a conflict of interest, or rather, what the nature of that conflict is. Let's deal with that first. What is your relationship with Regina Lim? -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:20, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi DoubleGrazing,
- Thank you for your feedback and for pointing out the necessary requirements. I’d like to clarify that I work at Basic Models, a talent agency, and Regina Lim is one of the artistes under our management. I am working on her draft article as part of my professional responsibilities with the agency. Itsmandyah (talk) 07:27, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
- Okay, thank you. Please make the paid-editing disclosure as required by our T&Cs, by placing the {{paid}} template, appropriately filled in, on your user page User:Itsmandyah. Thanks, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:31, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
- alright, so after doing that what other edits do i have to make? Itsmandyah (talk) 07:34, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
- Your first challenge will be to demonstrate that this person is notable enough to warrant inclusion in a global encyclopaedia. You have two main options to do that. The general notability guideline WP:GNG (please click on that, and read carefully everything there) requires significant coverage of her in multiple secondary sources that are reliable and entirely independent (of her, of your agency, and of each other).
- The other option is to show notability via one of the subject-specific guidelines, in this case WP:NACTOR. That requires significant career achievements, evidenced again by reliable published sources.
- Either way, your job is then to merely summarise what published sources have said about this person, in your own words (no copypasting!) but without putting any spin or embellishment on things. To be quite clear: your job is not to write what you want to tell the world about her, or what she would like you to say, but only what has been published about her in reliable and independent sources. This is the part which you will find difficult, because you have a natural desire to make your client look good, but that isn't what we're looking for here.
- All the information must then be referenced, but citing the sources where it came from. Especially in articles on living people (WP:BLP), every material statement, anything potentially contentious, and all private personal and family details must be clearly supported by inline citations immediately following the statement, or otherwise removed. Currently for example the 'Early life and education' section says {{tq|"Lim was born in Singapore on 1 January 1996. She graduated with a degree in International Relations from SIM-University of London. She keeps her family life private and enjoys baking in her free time.") but this is completely unreferenced. This may well be true, but that's not the point; we need to be able to verify that information.
- Final point: both you and your client need to realise that if this article is published, you will not 'own' it in any sense of the word. Others will edit it also, and they may include information which you or your client don't like; see An article about yourself isn't necessarily a good thing. You also won't be allowed to edit it directly once published, but must instead make edit requests via the article talk page. I'm saying this already now just to help manage expectations. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:52, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
- Could you also let me know whether I should start a new draft or continue editing the current one? Additionally, please advise on any other areas I need to modify. This would be really helpful in ensuring the process is smoother and that it gets accepted Itsmandyah (talk) 07:48, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
- No, you should not start a completely new draft. You may effectively achieve the same by deleting much or even all of the content in this one, and starting afresh, but in that case you must leave the previous reviews (declines and comments) there, which are part of the draft audit trail. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:54, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi DoubleGrazing! I need to edit my wikipedia draft for Regina Lim and I cant seem to find it, could you link me back to the draft please! thank you! Itsmandyah (talk) 04:42, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
- You seem to have moved it, for some reason, from its earlier location Draft:Regina Lim to Draft:Regina. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 06:19, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
- hmm, when i try to edit it, i cant edit it properly it keeps asking me to edit source instead. Could you help me with that please? Itsmandyah (talk) 06:21, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
- I'm guessing by "properly" you mean you want to edit visually? I don't use the visual editor myself, so can't really help, but from memory there should be an icon that looks like a pencil, which is used to switch between the source and visual editors. If you can't find it, or it doesn't help, you should ask at the Help desk or Teahouse. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 06:35, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
- I tried to do that but I was unable to do so, do you mind helping me to delete it away so that I could start on a new one? Itsmandyah (talk) 06:37, 8 May 2025 (UTC)

Your user page
[edit]Please do not use your user page User:Itsmandyah to develop article content. That isn't the purpose of a user page, and therefore this content may get deleted without notice. Use the draft space instead, or your personal name space such as your sandbox. Would you like me to move the content currently on your user page into the draft space? -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 05:31, 24 April 2025 (UTC)
- yes please! thank you so much Itsmandyah (talk) 05:32, 24 April 2025 (UTC)
- Okay, done. You can now find it at Draft:Aimee Rose Cheng-Bradshaw. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 05:35, 24 April 2025 (UTC)
- thank you so much! appreciate it Itsmandyah (talk) 05:35, 24 April 2025 (UTC)
- Once again, please don't develop article content on your user page.
- You can create new pages by entering a page name which doesn't exist, and then clicking on the 'create' button that comes up. For example, you can create a sub-page in your own user space with a forward slash (/), eg. User:Itsmandyah/somepagetitle. Or better yet, you can create drafts directly in the draft name space by prefixing the intended title with 'Draft:', eg. Draft:Some Page Title.
- Would you like me to move the content currently on your user page to the draft name space? -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 08:47, 25 April 2025 (UTC)
- oh dear okay! sorry i tried and i thought it was in draft already! yes please help me to move it thank you! Itsmandyah (talk) 08:50, 25 April 2025 (UTC)
- Okay, moved it to Draft:Hannah Bradshaw. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 09:07, 25 April 2025 (UTC)
- I've also put the AfC submission template on both of these drafts, so that you can submit them for review when you're finished editing. Just to remind you, you're not allowed to publish these directly in the encyclopaedia yourself, on account of your paid-editing status, but must instead put them through a review at AfC.
- Please make sure also to formally disclose your paid editing for each subject that you create drafts for, as per our earlier discussion. You can either do this on each draft's talk page separately, or combine all the disclosures together on your userpage (the latter is the easier option, and IMO clearer). -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 09:12, 25 April 2025 (UTC)

You still have not adequately responded or taken action to the inquiry regarding your appearance as an undisclosed paid editor. If you make any additional edits without complying, you may be blocked from editing. DoubleGrazing (talk) 06:35, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
- I need to remind you that you must make a paid-editing disclosure separately for each subject in which your conflict of interest applies. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 06:39, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
- Could you guide me along for this and I will make adjustements now thank you! Itsmandyah (talk) 06:38, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
- I did for Aimee' Cheng-Bradshaw's. is it still wrong? Itsmandyah (talk) 06:48, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
- You "did" what? Do you mean disclosed your paid-editing? You had added a section heading which said something about disclosure, but that's not the way this is done, so I removed it. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 06:50, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
- yes i meant that! could i get the correct version and i will put them in and resubmit again? Itsmandyah (talk) 06:53, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
- I've already provided it twice, on this very page. I'm starting to wonder if you actually read anything I post here? But okay, for the third time, the instructions related to paid editing are at WP:PAID. And the template you need to add (appropriately filled-in) to your user page User:Itsmandyah is at {{paid}}. There are several variations of that template, and in your case the best one to use would probably be the one that allows you to list in one userbox all the articles where your COI applies. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:00, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
- i do hahah, just always confused on where i am supposed to put it at! currently placing them in Hannah cheng bradshaw with this {{paid|user=Itsmandyah|employer=BonitaMa|client=IBasicModels}} at the header! Should be alright now yea? Will do the same with Aimee and Regina one too! thank you! @DoubleGrazing.
- Also you mentioned that you removed something, did you remove my whole draft of aimee cheng-bradshaws? Itsmandyah (talk) 07:15, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
- You have two options for making this disclosure:
- Use the {{paid}} template on your user page (User:Itsmandyah). With this option, you must complete the template with details of the subject your COI relates to, so that anyone looking at that template knows which article it refers to. You can either use the basic template, and add new one for each subject. Or you can use the userbox version of the template, the variant which allows you to list all subjects within the userbox, in which case you only need to use the template once. --or--
- Use the {{Connected contributor (paid)}} template on the talk page of each article or draft to which your COI relates. In that case, you need to complete the template with your details, so that anyone looking at it knows who the editor is who is making that disclosure.
- You can also do both 1 and 2, if you wish, but it isn't a requirement.
- And don't wrap the template inside the 'nowiki' wrapper, as that neuters template causing it to not render as intended.
- In no case should you make the disclosure on the actual article/draft page itself.
