If you disagree with my assessment, then I will roll back my assessment of a Stat class on the article's talk page. Is that what you want? Ping me. Bearian (talk) 09:10, 12 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I already have. I've made this sort of assessment error in the past too, and it was explained to me then that a start class article is more than just a couple of sentences and an infobox, and that the boundary is around 1500 bytes of readable prose. Which is why I class this article as "stub" when I wrote it a couple of years ago, despite the decent references.
I've taken a quick look to see if there's anything that can be added to expand the article; unfortunately Mr Adsett doesn't seem to have been newsworthy since his resignation.-- IdiotSavant (talk) 12:04, 12 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Tavake Barron Afeaki has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Afeaki appears to be a BLP1E, there's very little coverage of him, all of which is related to the controversial appointment, and none of which is lasting.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. You might be interested

[edit]

I can't remember if it was you or someone else, but there was a Wikipedian interested in politics who posted on social media the other month about the Independent Together Wikipedia article being edited by a person who is in the article, and then getting indefinitely blocked.

It has happened again, on another article, so I thought you might be interested in it, I don't know.

Basically what's happened is on the article 2025 Tasman District Council election, the IP editor 222.155.189.2 and the user Gated444 have tried to add information to the candidates Julian Hall and Rodney Ward. In one edit, after I had reverted their addition, the IP editor told me in the edit summary that "You have been reported to the Electoral Commission", claiming that I was interfering with an election. After TheLoyalOrder brought it to ANI, the IP was blocked for 60 hours for making legal threats. The IP then admitted on his talk page that he is Julian Hall, one of the candidates in the article, meaning that he had been editing the text about himself. I pointed out at ANI that both the IP and Gated444 had been trying to add the same text, meaning that they were probably the same person. Later on, Gated444 claimed that he had reported me to the Electoral Commission on his talk page. And as a result, Gated444 was indefinitely blocked for making legal threats or taking legal action.

In short: a candidate writes about himself on Wikipedia to make him look good for an election. When it gets reverted, he claims to have reported an editor to the Electoral Commission. He gets indefinitely blocked as a result.

Not sure if you are interested in sharing it or not, but at least it was an enjoyable show. ―Panamitsu (talk) 07:22, 14 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

It was, but I recall some of the admins who were involved did not like it and thought it verged on off-wiki harassment. So I'm not sure if I want to go there again, even if it is newsworthy. (so is the apparent Samoan Deputy PM, but the edit there was far less controversal. IdiotSavant (talk) 10:16, 14 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
