Good afternoon, Homeostasis07. I see you've put a lot of work into Marilyn Manson related articles, including One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1 and its singles. I was wondering if you could help me expand the section on the band's cover of "In the Air Tonight". I added a lead, composition and charts, and plan to add a personnel and critical reception. If you're willing to help, that's great. If not, happy editing! CleoCat16 (talk) 18:09, 17 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @CleoCat16: Congrats on your work on the article so far. Looks great. I've found a few sources for the single's commercial performance, but it will probably be a couple of days before I can work on the article though. Homeostasis07 (talk/contributions) 23:28, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks and take your time. CleoCat16 (talk) 23:40, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @CleoCat16: Just finished with "In the Air Tonight". Feel free to have a look and make any changes you want. I was planning on spending the next while working on an article for Reba Meyers, but I guess "God Is a Weapon" is my next project? Do you plan on working on that article? - Good work, Homeostasis07. I forgot about "God Is a Weapon" even though I heard about it earlier today. I can do some work on it. I've been doing work on some P.O.D. and Billy Idola articles lately. I have trouble sticking to one article lol. CleoCat16 (talk) 00:33, 23 May 2025 (UTC)

Remember Me?
[edit]Hey, it's me again @CleoCat16. It was nice collaborating with you on In the Air Tonight and God Is a Weapon (I wish I could've done more on the latter, but I was tied up with other projects at the time. Anyway, I'm reaching out again because I started an expansion effort on Torniquet. I'm surprised, of all the Marilyn Manson articles, the two big singles of his biggest album need the most work. I've already improved the lead. I've yet to source one or two of the statements made, but I have the website to, and will do so in the body.
On the same topic, I've been having trouble finding sources lately. I've tried DuckDuckGo, Yahoo and Bing, but I find Google to be the best, and it's still a mixed bag. I make use of Google's advance search, but struggle to find what I'm looking for a lot of times. I'm curious how you look for your sources. Thanks! CleoCat16 (talk) 21:34, 10 August 2025 (UTC)
- Hey @CleoCat16: Lovely to hear from you again! Great work on the "Tourniquet" article. Unfortunately, I too am finding search engines a bit lacking these days. You used to be able to find practically anything with targeted searches, but since the introduction of AI search engine tools, I'm finding that it's becoming harder and harder to manually find anything of substance. Of course, no one has confirmed this correlation officially, but it's certainly what I've experienced thus far. Even direct quotations you've seen and remembered from a mainstream source don't come up when you search for those exact quotes a few months later. Hopefully that will change soon. When it comes to sourcing Wikipedia articles, Google is still probably your best bet. I find the "News" and "Books" tabs to have the highest likelihood of finding usable sources. I'm not seeing all that much you could use for "Tourniquet", though.A website that helped a lot when I was bringing Holy Wood to featured article status several years ago was MansonWiki. It's a treasure trove of old magazine interviews you won't find on search engines. You can't cite MansonWiki as a source directly though, use Template:Cite magazine instead. And I wouldn't rely on the transcriptions. They are generally accurate, but they're prone to typos. If I were you, I'd just Alt+F for "Tourniquet" at every Antichrist Superstar-era interview, and maybe some later-era ones too, then download the relevant scans and work from those directly.Sorry for the long response, but hopefully you've found this helpful. Let me know if there's anything you'd specifically like help with. Kind regards, Homeostasis07 (talk/contributions) 23:04, 12 August 2025 (UTC)
- No need to apologize for the length. It's been helpful and I'll try to do that with my next few additions on "Tourniquet". It's starting to come together well, but I'd like to expand the background, composition and music videos sections.
- For the latter, I used the "before:" function on Google, and set it to 1998, giving me good information on its heavy rotation on MTV and the controversies Manson was in at the time.
- Happy editing! CleoCat16 (talk) 00:43, 13 August 2025 (UTC)
Wanna review Friday the 13th (1980)? I improved the article. GettingSwole (talk) 12:55, 25 September 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @GettingSwole: I'm not very active these days, so apologies for the delay in responding. I see someone else has already started the review. Hope your nomination is successful. Happy editing! Homeostasis07 (talk/contributions) 01:03, 29 September 2025 (UTC)
