Hello, I'm CoconutOctopus. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, UKIP, but you didn't provide a reliable source. On Wikipedia, it's important that article content be verifiable. If you'd like to resubmit your change with a citation, your edit is archived in the page history. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. - I know. But unless they are described in reliable sources as neo-nazi, we cannot call them such on Wikipedia. To do otherwise is original research, odd as it may sound. CoconutOctopus talk 13:56, 15 October 2025 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Additionally, you must be logged in, have 500 edits, and have an account age of 30 days, and you are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on any page within this topic.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

- Just to add that edits like this in ARBPIA with no edit summary is wild, even without an FAQ covering this on the talk page, and this type of edit is likely to result in getting in trouble again as ignores MOS:LABEL. For these sort of bold edits it's best to always check the talk page, there's likely a good reason something is stated in the way that it is, so better to start a discussion if you think the change would be contentious. I think my mentorship has expired by now, but thought I should still mention these things, and it's not to say you haven't otherwise made good edits as well etc. CNC (talk) 09:59, 25 October 2025 (UTC)
RM close of Canon de 75 modèle 1897
[edit]What's up with this close Special:Diff/1321224072? Why are you using someone else's username at the {{RM bottom}} template? Why are you not using the prescribed arguments in both {{RM top}}, and {{RM bottom}} or not subst them? If you are going to close more RM discussions, I suggest that you either familarise with the parameters used for both templates, or make use of a userscript such as User:TheTVExpert/rmCloser. Please correct the closure accordingly. I will circle back in a couple of hours on this. – robertsky (talk) 12:00, 9 November 2025 (UTC)

Israeli invasion of the Gaza Strip
[edit]Please avoid closing discussions if you are not capable of doing so. This close failed to provide a rationale for such a contentious topic, or even a signature, and the merge itself ended up crashing the page. It was very much a bad non-admin close which I have since reverted. I see above this is not the first time making a mistake with closes, so please avoid close discussions in contentious topics until you gain more experience, and even then there will be contentious discussions to avoid closing. 2029 African Nations League moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to 2029 African Nations League. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing as a live article at this time because it has no sources and it consists of machine-generated text. I have converted it to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. TheInevitables (talk) 20:48, 21 December 2025 (UTC)
