How to create articles

[edit]

@FineLine2025, welcome to Wikipedia. I saw your request on the Requested Moves talk page which was not the right place for your request. As a very new user, you can only create new articles by submitting drafts to Articles for creation. Before doing so, please carefully read Your first article and Getting started which introduce the key policies and guidelines. Writing a new article from scratch is one of the most difficult things a new editor can do, so I advise new editors to spend some time (at least a few weeks) learning about Wikipedia by trying smaller tasks first.

In addition, you have (accidentally?) created different versions of your draft at both User:FineLine2025 and User:FineLine2025/sandbox. Which one do you want to keep working on? ClaudineChionh (she/her · talk · email · global) 05:10, 6 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your message ClaudineChionh.
Thank you for your note and guidance. I appreciate your reminder. My user page was being used temporarily to prepare and organize content related to my work as a fine artist before submitting it properly to the main article space.
I will ensure that any material intended for publication as an article about me will follow Wikipedia’s guidelines, including proper sourcing, neutrality, and placement in the main namespace.
Thanks again for your advice.

@FineLine2025, thank you for your reply. Now that you have identified yourself, you should read our guidelines on Autobiography and Conflict of interest. You might also find An article about yourself isn't necessarily a good thing enlightening. We strongly discourage trying to write an autobiography, but if you wish to do this, you should disclose your conflict of interest on your user page, and use the Articles for Creation process rather create it in mainspace yourself.
Your main user page should not be used for draft articles – user sandboxes or the Drafts space are the preferred locations for drafts. Is the sandbox version of your draft the one that you will keep working on? If so, I'd recommend removing the draft content from User:FineLine2025 and adding your conflict of interest disclosure there. I can help you with this if you're unsure of the process.
