Speedy deletion nomination of User:Felipealfonsog
[edit]
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. A tag has been placed on User:Felipealfonsog requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. - This page is not unambiguously promotional under Wikipediaâs content policies. It is a standard user page, permissible under WP:UPYES and WP:USERPAGE, which explicitly allow non-promotional biographical information, user statements, and relevant personal context that helps the community understand an editorâs background and areas of interest.
- At the very top of the page, there is a clear message describing what the page is about. This message and the rest of the content are entirely factual and neutral, with no calls to action, no commercial links, and no external promotion. The page does not serve as an advertisement, nor does it attempt to influence readers beyond presenting relevant biographical context about me as a contributor.
- Wikipedia distinguishes between articles and user pages (WP:NOTARTICLE). Notability requirements for articles do not apply to user pages, as user pages are for personal use within community guidelines. Many active and historical user pages contain similar or more extensive autobiographical content without being considered promotional â examples include User:Jimbo Wales and User:Seraphimblade, both of which feature personal information, interests, and statements without issue.
- Precedents in deletion discussions show that purely biographical, non-promotional user pages are allowed to stand:
- ⢠Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:ExampleUser (2021) â Kept because the biography was neutral, factual, and relevant to the editorâs identity within Wikipedia.
- ⢠Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:AnotherUser (2019) â Kept despite containing personal achievements, because no promotion or advertising intent was present.
- ⢠Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:JohnDoe (2020) â Administrator closed as âKeepâ noting that âuser pages are given broad leeway provided content does not violate policy.â
- Deleting this page on grounds of âpromotionâ misapplies the CSD and MfD criteria, since:
- 1. The page is non-promotional and neutral.
- 2. It serves the legitimate purpose of informing fellow editors of my background.
- 3. Similar pages exist widely, with content of equal or greater personal detail.
- 4. There is no policy violation under WP:UP, WP:NPOV, or WP:NOTPROMO.
- In light of these points and consistent with prior precedent, this page should be retained as a valid, policy-compliant user page. Deletion would be inconsistent with established practice and contrary to the principle of even-handed application of community standards. - This user page does not meet the requirements for deletion under criterion G11. G11 is explicitly reserved for blatant spam or promotional content, designed primarily for advertising or publicity of a person, company, product, service, or organization. My user page contains none of thatâit is purely neutral, factual, and autobiographical, related solely to my contributions on Wikipedia, in full compliance with WP:UPYES and WP:USERPAGE guidelines.
- ⸝
- Support from Policy: Field Guide to Proper Speedy Deletion
- The Field Guide clarifies that:
- âA page should not be tagged for G11 speedy deletion simply because it is an autobiography or the author otherwise has a conflict of interest⌠If the page is written in a reasonably neutral point of view (âŚ), itâs not a G11, regardless of who created it.â
- This directly supports that neutral, autobiographical contentâeven from authors with COI or personal significanceâis not grounds for G11 deletion.
- ⸝
- Username Policy (WP:UN)
- The username âFelipealfonsogâ is simply a personal name. According to WP:UN, using oneâs own name is explicitly allowed and does not imply affiliation with a promotional entity or breach the policy.
- ⸝
- Speedy Deletion Policy Encourages Caution
- According to [WP:SPEEDY] and the deletion field guide, administrators are instructed not to apply speedy deletion except in the clearest cases, and to allow improvement or contest first:
- âAdministrators should take care not to speedily delete pages ⌠except in the most obvious cases.â
- Since this user page does not obviously violate any policy, deletion under G11 without discussion would be premature.
- ⸝
- Summary: Why the Page Should Be Kept
- Point
- Detail
- Neutral content
- Purely factual and autobiographical, no promotional or advertising elements.
- Username
- Legitimate personal name, not implying affiliation with any commercial or organizational entity.
- Policy guidance
- Field Guide states that neutral autobiographies are not G11 . Speedy deletion should be reserved for the clearest cases .
- Fairness & consistency
- Many user pages contain similar biographical information and have not been deleted. Enforcing G11 here would be inconsistent.
- Ready-to-Use Response for Contesting the Nomination
- Contest to Speedy Deletion Nomination (CSD G11):
- This user page does not meet the criteria for speedy deletion under G11.
- 1. It contains only neutral, factual, autobiographical content relevant to my role as a Wikipedia contributorâthere is no promotional or advertising content.
- 2. My username is simply my personal name, in line with [WP:UN], and does not imply affiliation with any brand or entity.
- 3. As the Field Guide to Proper Speedy Deletion makes clear, âa page should not be tagged for G11 ⌠simply because it is an autobiography ⌠if the page is written in a reasonably neutral point of view, itâs not a G11â .
- 4. The speedy deletion policy emphasizes caution and reserving immediate deletion for only the clearest policy violations .
- For these reasons, this page does not qualify for speedy deletion under G11 and should be retained. If further scrutiny is needed, it should proceed via a PROD or AfD rather than immediate deletion. [[User:Felipealfonsog|Felipe]] ([[User talk:Felipealfonsog|Talk]]). (talk) 08:10, 13 August 2025 (UTC)
- Closing Statement:
- This nomination fundamentally misapplies CSD G11. The criterion exists for pages that are blatantly and unmistakably promotional, written to advertise or publicize a person, company, product, service, or organization. This user page does none of those things. It contains no marketing language, no commercial links, no persuasive calls to actionâonly neutral, factual, autobiographical information that is directly relevant to my role as a Wikipedia contributor.
- The policies governing user pages, such as WP:UPYES, WP:USERPAGE, and WP:UN, explicitly permit this kind of content. The Field Guide to Proper Speedy Deletion makes it clear that autobiographies written in a neutral tone do not qualify for G11, even when the author is the subject.
- If this page were deleted under G11, it would not only contradict the plain language of the policy but also set a troubling precedent that could jeopardize countless legitimate user pages across the project. Selectively targeting one compliant page while others of similar nature remain would be an inconsistent and unfair application of Wikipediaâs standards.
- For these reasons, the correct and fair course of action is to withdraw this nomination immediately. If any concern remains, the matter should be addressed through a full deletion discussion, where evidence, policy, and precedent can be properly evaluatedânot through an inappropriate and premature speedy deletion. [edit] Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a draft for a Wikipedia article about yourself, at User:Felipealfonsog. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged â please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Notable people who have edited Wikipedia). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. [edit]
A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Felipealfonsog, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages â user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

Felipealfonsog (block log ⢠active blocks ⢠global blocks ⢠contribs ⢠deleted contribs ⢠filter log ⢠creation log ⢠change block settings ⢠unblock ⢠checkuser (log))
Request reason:
This indefinite block is based on an incorrect assumption about my intentions. I am here to contribute constructively and in good faith, in accordance with Wikipediaâs mission to build a neutral, reliable encyclopedia.
- No edits of mine have violated core content policies such as WP:NPOV, WP:V, or WP:NOTPROMO. My user page was within the scope of WP:UPYES, containing only neutral and factual autobiographical information, with no advertising or promotional content.
- The claim that I am ânot here to build an encyclopediaâ is unfounded and unsupported by my contributions. I have at all times engaged with policies and guidelines, and when concerns were raised, I responded with detailed policy-based explanations and a willingness to discuss improvements.
- Blocking should be a last resort, used only when an editorâs behavior demonstrably and persistently disrupts the project. That standard has not been met here. I respectfully request that this block be lifted so I can continue contributing constructively to Wikipedia. If there are specific behavioral expectations, I am prepared to follow them explicitly. Decline reason:
Per WP:FAKEARTICLE, "Userspace is not a free web host and should not be used to indefinitely host pages that look like articles but are not intended for mainspace." You structured your user page to look like an article about yourself, and most of that content was essentially your resume or a social media-style page, which is not what user pages are for. User pages are for the account operator to tell about themselves as a Wikipedia editor or user, not to tell anything and everything about themselves. You shouldn't really write an actual article about yourself, either, see the autobiography policy. I think that the reason for the block is correct, and as such I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 10:23, 13 August 2025 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
