Your edits to Napoleon

[edit]

Hello there

I reverted your edits because the consensus is not to add this information to the info box. (Please refer to the previous discussions about this on the article talk page.) You are an experienced editor so you should know that you should not mark an edit as "minor" when you are adding content, especially content that is contrary to the existing consensus and is likely to be controversial: see Help:Minor edit. Also, please do not add misleading edit summaries: you added parents and the "house of Bonaparte", not parents and spouses. Did you really think no one would notice? Hello,
Thankyou for reverting the edit, if i had been aware of the consensus on the talk page iI would have done so myself. I wouldn't have considered such a change as controversial, considering how often those fields are used in similar articles. You are right, in an article so large as Napoleon, any omission should be considered intentional and require further research. As for the edit summary, I write those quickly and and I have written a lot of them. It was not my intention to be misleading, I believe instead of selecting save, I selected an autofill prompt instead.
I appreciate you bringing this to my attention and will be more careful in the future.

Tip of the Month:

  • Researching historical women writers who used pseudonyms requires careful investigation across multiple sources, as many women adopted pen names to avoid gender bias and judgment (e.g., being labeled a bluestocking) and, ultimately, to get published.
