Why are you accusing me of disruptive editing on ValuJet Airlines Flight 592?
[edit]I was not the one who move it to ValuJet Flight 592. An editor in 2021 moved it. Actually, the editor who moved it was actually a sockpuppet. I am just confused why you are blaming me for inaccurate information when you saw that the title was ValuJet Flight 592. I was just adjusting the article to the current name. I actually wanted to change it to ValuJet Airlines Flight 592, but I saw it had been changed and didn't want to start a edit war. But now I have decided to change it. I hope I can clarify what has been happening.

- I'm not interested in your explanations. I believe you want to mean well, but given the sheer number of warnings on your Talk page, it is very difficult for others to assume good faith of your edits. This would be a good time for you to ask at an article's Talk page and form a consensus before making any edits that might seem controversial. Your removal of "Airlines" was a problem, and if you didn't want to potentially start an edit war then you could have asked first rather than making a disruptive edit. Edits to David Wenham page
[edit]You advised that you reverted several edits I made since they didn't quote sources. As far as I can determine, the edits were grammatical and typographical only. If memory serves correctly, I am wondering why I need a reference for correcting grammar or typos. Blue Moses (talk) 05:27, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
- You added a date of birth for David Wenham, but didn't provide a source, nor did I see a source supporting the DOB that you added provided anywhere within the article. DonIago (talk) 06:01, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
Stale 3Os
[edit]Hi there. I was recently asked by an editor offwiki for advice on proper dispute resolution venues. I told them that before going to DRN one should usually try to get a third opinion. They responded that their previous request for a third opinion was simply deleted, which shocked me. It seems they were correct: you removed several discussions as "stale" in this diff [1]. Could you please explain what you meant by "stale"? Toadspike [Talk] 15:23, 13 September 2025 (UTC)
- It's discussed at WP:3O: "Requests are subject to being removed from the list if no volunteer chooses to provide an opinion within six days after they are listed below. If your dispute is removed for that reason (check the history to see the reason), please feel free to re-list your dispute if you still would like to obtain an opinion—indicate that it's been re-listed in your entry. If removed a second time due to no volunteer giving an opinion, please do not relist again." DonIago (talk) 15:26, 13 September 2025 (UTC)
- Perhaps it should also be noted that I started a discussion at the 3O Talk page regarding my concerns that requests weren't being picked up (though I'd have reservations about increasing the amount of time discussions should remain on the page), though thus far no editors have responded. DonIago (talk) 15:29, 13 September 2025 (UTC)
- I see, thanks. I'll take a look at that discussion. I do think it would be a good idea to ping the editors whose discussions are removed as stale to let them know that 1. they've been removed and 2. they can relist them, much as we do for draftifications. Toadspike [Talk] 15:53, 13 September 2025 (UTC)
- You're welcome! I have mixed feelings about that. On the one hand, I concede that it might be a reasonable "best practice" to do so, but on the other hand, the 'stale discussion' clause is listed in the instructions already (though it's abundantly clear that many editors post disputes without fully reading the instrutions) and ANI and arguably more significant discussion forums archive conversations all the time, and unless the OP is subscribed to the thread or such, they don't receive any notification when the archiving occurs, so there seems to be some expectation that invested editors will proactively monitor discussions that are of interest to them. The Second Coming
[edit]Hi DonIago - you reverted my edit to this article in the In Popular Culture when I added that Robert Parker's book Ceremony (about a young schoolgirl-turned-prostitute, who has of course lost her innocence) - in addition to his following Spenser series book The Widening Gyre, was titled after a line from the poem, saying I did not cite sources. The Widening Gyre had already been in the article, without sourcing - apparently it was obvious enough? and I assumed Ceremony would've been as well. The front matter epigraph in the book Ceremony explicitly includes the two lines "“The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere The ceremony of innocence is drowned …” and notes The Second Coming / Yeats. So I suppose that could be sourced - but then ought not the other book - and all the other material - also be cited? As many detective series often have a "theme" for titling, Parker had a thing for titling his books this way initially, although not always cited IN his books - for another example one was titled Valediction - obviously a Donne reference; then Mortal Stakes (Frost), A Savage Place (Coleridge), "Taming A Sea-Horse" (featuring the prostitute from Ceremony again) - Robert Browning, Pale Kings and Princes (Keats) ....etc. etc. A Doon (talk) 11:32, 16 September 2025 (UTC)
- As mentioned in the note I left at your Talk page, please review WP:IPCV. You need to provide a reliable secondary source. The goal isn't to establish whether or not the reference exists, but whether the reference has attracted any significant attention. As I like to put it, the goal isn't to prove that the tree fell in the woods, but rather that it made a sound when it fell. Please let me know if any of this is unclear!
