User talk:Caterpillar84
Hello, Wikipedia friends. Please be advised that I find templates aggressive and disrespectful. If you'd like to collaborate to improve a page, please engage in a conversation with overt kindness and consideration. Citations missing or inadequate? Help me on the hunt for them rather than propose a total deletion of an article! Other issues? Let's digital high-five and get to work on 'em. I love contributing to the passage of knowledge here and would like to keep the experience uplifting and positive for all parties. Thanks so much and keep rockin'! --Caterpillar84 (talk) 16:09, 22 November 2019 (UTC) p.s. Please familiarize yourself with POLITE, ENGAGED, and WELCOMING etiquette toward relatively new users such as myself. This is all about offering mutual dignity and a group effort toward the addition of knowledge, not a subtraction of it. The wiki ethos is unequivocally all about the spirit of teamwork: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Please_do_not_bite_the_newcomers

[edit]- Dear @Caterpillar84: Have you seen this: [1]. All you need to go, is you plug in a good google book ref, and it generate full harvard style reference for you. Hope that helps. scope_creepTalk 09:26, 3 June 2020 (UTC)
- Dear @Caterpillar84:, cracking article though and beautifully written.; Have you thought maybe expanding it out, to GA. scope_creepTalk 09:28, 3 June 2020 (UTC)
Hello, Creep Scope. Nice to meet you. Thank you for that tool; I had never seen it before. I'll try to make use of it. Thank you! And I'm glad you enjoyed the page. --Caterpillar84 (talk) 22:07, 5 June 2020 (UTC)
googlebooks metadata
[edit]The metadata at googlebooks is notoriously flawed. With this edit, you added a {{cite book}}
template that names a single author (Furia) three times in three different ways. I presume that you used Reftag for Google Books to create that citation. That tool is also flawed. Note that for the legitimate second author it added the parameter |coauthors=Michael L. Lasser
which parameter has not been supported by the cs1|2 templates for many years. Do not trust tools. They are not perfect. Please check each and every edit that you make using tools so that others don't have to follow you around cleaning up the mess.

Speculative additions
[edit]Please be sure the sources you implement for claims actually verify something is happening. Pieces that only speculate on a matter shouldn't be treated as definitive proof. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 16:55, 4 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hi SNUGGUMS, thanks for stopping by. Removal of my added information on Mariah Carey's page was unnecessary because it is verifiable, not speculative. I cited a Billboard article now just to bolster the information, but you can also check all of Carey's social media on which she states "My new single ‘Type Dangerous’ is out this Friday!" Anyway, thanks again for stopping by and good tidings to you. Caterpillar84 (talk) 17:14, 4 June 2025 (UTC)
- I was referring to this piece used earlier, though overlooked how it actually was JaylonN who inserted the link after you added unsourced text. Nevertheless, my previous message was written before I came across her announcement, and confirmation of a release has now been appropriately cited. It still isn't yet known whether this will be a standalone track or part of a new album, so until that gets established, let's just stick to when the song comes out. - Fair enough, SNUGGUMS. Thanks, and have a good one. =) Caterpillar84 (talk) 21:45, 5 June 2025 (UTC)

I have sent you a note about a page you started
[edit]Hi Caterpillar84. Thank you for your work on Jess Damuck. Another editor, Alpha3031, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:
Hi Caterpillar. I note on your user and talk page that you mention you find templates impersonal and prefer not to receive them. I'm not used to composing these messages so I hope you'll forgive any missteps or if my tone seems either too abrupt, or too long winded.
At the moment, this article reads as what the subject has to say about themselves, rather than what sources have to say about them. This is a natural consequence of the article being based upon interviews and similar content, and is not an accusation of any fault or error on your part. You would be correct to stick to your sources, because to do otherwise risks original research.
That said, these type of articles are not typically what we publish on Wikipedia. I am open to assisting you in finding more sources which would allow for a rewrite of the article, assuming the requests for assistance are something I can reasonably fulfil. However, as I don't really know what sort of assistance you would want or need in searching for sources, I would have to follow your lead on that. If you have any specific requests, I am at your disposal.
If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know, and I will try to respond. Alternatively, I can try to refer you to the appropriate resources, if that is your preference.
To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Alpha3031}}

Ways to improve Alice Beasley
[edit]Hello, Caterpillar84,
Thank you for creating Alice Beasley.
I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:
This article uses a lot of bare URLs for references. Bare URLs can be subject to what we call "link rot", because not enough information is necessarily recorded in the URL to be able to identify the source if the website disappears from the internet. I recommend taking a look at WP:CITET and having a go at using citation templates for this article.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Cloventt}}
. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~

- This article has been cleaned up a lot and is looking very good now. To take it to the next level, adding an {{infobox person}} template to the article can make it look more "finished". David Palmer//cloventt (talk) 07:13, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
Grauman's footprint/handprint images
[edit]Hey, those photos are terrific additions! Do you have many others like that? Angela Lansbury, Al Pacino, Marlon Brando, Bette Davis, Robert De Niro, Jack Nicholson, etc. etc.? Just wondering, because I would love to see them included for many others. --Cinemaniac86TalkStalk 00:30, 29 July 2025 (UTC)
- Hello Cinemaniac86! Thank you! So glad you like them. I have one for Bette Davis but I'm in it, so it's no good to use. Next time I'm in that area I'll have to take more so I can add them to more pages. So far I've added them to the pages for Jeff Bridges, Star Trek, Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland, Jean Harlow, and Deborah Kerr. I won't forget to take more pix next time I'm down there. Thanks again for the compliment! Caterpillar84 (talk) 00:49, 29 July 2025 (UTC)
- Hi again, Cinemaniac86! I just found more photos in my collection. I will be adding them soon. They are for Jack Benny, Carrie Fisher, and Julie Andrews. I also have one I'll be adding of Michael Jackson's Walk of Fame star on the 15th anniversary of his passing. Caterpillar84 (talk) 01:23, 29 July 2025 (UTC)
