- Strickland specifically said,"the U.S. bombing and invading countries" and that is specifically in the source. The text provided refers specifically to a U.S. invasion of Iran which is the exact topic being discussed. Taking Strickland's Tweet out of context can be considered vandalism. - Hi CapitalPun, Good day. I dont see your edit "the CIA role in overthrowing the democratically elected Mohammad Mosaddegh in Iran, " in the source. If I missed them in the source then please let me know. If not, then we can not place info that is not supported by source. Cassiopeia talk 04:04, 25 June 2025 (UTC)
- The Wiki article claims Strickland makes the statement of, "On June 19, 2025, Strickland made a statement on Twitter, claiming that the alleged reason "Iran says death to [the United States]" is because of past operations in Vietnam and the Middle East."
- The actual claim made by Strickland is, "But Iran says death to America"
- Im sure they fucking do.. Do you know how many countries we have bombed and invaded in the last 50 years?!
- Vietnam "false flag" Iraq "WMDs" Afghanistan "saudis" Syria "chemical weapons" now isis party ground.
- I wonder fucking why"
- The Wikipedia article about Strickland, a living person, can be considered libelous as Strickland does not limit the "because" to Vietnam and unnamed Middle Eastern countries, but instead gives a much broader statement of, "Do you know how many countries we have bombed and invaded in the last 50 years?!" This much broader statement given by Strickland can include the U.S. bombing and invading countries, such as the CIA role in overthrowing the democratically elected Mohammad Mosaddegh in Iran Either we should include all of Strickland's statement, which includes the broader context of the U.S. role in invading Iran, or delete the entire statement, as only referencing Vietnam and unnamed Middle Eastern countries is libelous as Strickland did not limit his comment to only this. CapitalPun (talk) 04:41, 25 June 2025 (UTC)
- I changed the info (countries) as per source instead just middle east. Please note we can not add/change info that is not from source. Secondly, it is his opinion and the content states in quote/paraphrase in statemen and it is sourced. It is different if an editor add (for example) "XXX is a Nazi and a gay" without independent, reliable source support on XXX article if XXX is a living person, then that would considered defamation and it is a violation as per Wikipedia guidelines. Cassiopeia talk 05:01, 25 June 2025 (UTC)
- The current version, "On June 19, 2025, Strickland made a statement on Twitter, claiming that the alleged reason "Iran says death to [the United States]" is because of past operations in Vietnam and the Afghanistan and Syria.[100]" is very inaccurate as Strickland does not limit his statement to only these countries and instead includes a broader statement of, "Do you know how many countries we have bombed and invaded in the last 50 years?!" This would include all countries that the U.S. has invaded or bombed. It seems very disingenuous, and likely libelous, to exclude Iran as one of the countries Strickland is referring to since that is the topic at hand. If you are unwilling to quote exactly what Strickland said in full, then I can only consider this libelous and would be compelled to pursue further action. I would suggest instead presenting the full tweet in quotes, which allows the reader to make their own judgement rather than you attempting to reinterpret what Strickland actually meant, don't you agree? - I have edited the page. Please let me know if my edit is acceptable. I'm certainly not trying to vandalize the page. I'm just trying to make sure the statements made are accurate and not libelous. Thank you for taking the time to review my edits. CapitalPun (talk) 05:29, 25 June 2025 (UTC)

- In almost every instance that YouTube is used as a source it is used as a secondary source. The primary sources used are from websites such as the International Kickboxing Federation website. CapitalPun (talk) 12:33, 20 September 2025 (UTC)
I have sent you a note about a page you started
[edit]Hi CapitalPun. Thank you for your work on Anthony Elmore. Another editor, Mariamnei, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:
Nice start! Please add a source for "Elmore is a martial artist from Memphis, Tennessee, recognized as a five-time World Karate/Kickboxing Champion. His career is notable not only for his success in the ring but also for his role as a pioneer who helped popularize the sport." Also, Youtube is self-published source that usually cannot be used. Can you find secondary sources for these claims? Thanks and have a great day!
To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Mariamnei}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)
