Speedy deletion nomination of YBWM
[edit]
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on YBWM requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at [[Wikipedia:Redirects_for_discussion/Log/2015_December_22]]. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. About those deleted redirects - I *can* undelete them, but my question is why should they exist in the first place?
[edit]Hi @Caipira23, Xaosflux, Hey man im josh, Steel1943, Ivanvector, MaranoFan, QuasyBoy, and Nahnah4: (apologies if I've missed someone here).
The relevant redirect discussion was this one. Here you wrote "however, nowadays many of Swift's songs are known by acronyms of its titles. A Google search of WANEGBT, for instance, yields similar results to those of the full song title. Also, Wikipedia already has LWYMMD as a redirect to Look What You Made Me Do, so why can't her other songs have redirects from acronyms?" I've taken your advice and looked some of them up and... hmmm.
Are those song acronyms supported by reliable sources outside of Swifty fandom? (I note here that I'm obviously writing about a living person. WP:BLP applies here, and I am positively obligated to follow it at all times).
I've pinged most of the editors involved in the creation and deletion of those redirects.
I guess my question here is, looking at WP:RPURPOSE, is there any good reason to recreate those redirects? Shirt58 (talk) 🦘 10:17, 21 December 2024 (UTC)
- No opinion on these, I may have done something technical with these but am otherwise uninvolved/uninterested in this topic. — xaosflux Talk 10:35, 21 December 2024 (UTC)
- No, unless they are mentioned with a valid reference in their respective articles. Otherwise, I'd {{Db-g4}} them. Steel1943 (talk) 17:51, 21 December 2024 (UTC)
- I wouldn't bother undeleting them personally, they're just redirects. But it's been nine years since that deletion discussion - if someone finds them useful now, and for example if there's nothing else that "IKYWT" could plausibly refer to, then WP:CHEAP applies. Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to the Troubles, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Additionally, you are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on any page within this topic.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Lesbos. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. – Demetrios1993 (talk) 11:32, 25 May 2025 (UTC)
